Sorry about the unfinished comic everyone. I wish I could blame someone or something other than myself, but I had a bit of a procrastination theme this week on homework and such. 🙁 I’ll try to have at least flat[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Forgot to add the Director Commentary at first. >_< Amanda is a difficult character to write for. She is troubled and vindictive, but also just a kid. She has modes of thinking that an adult or teenager with a similar personality wouldn't use. There's a lot to juggle with Amanda, and sometimes I wonder if I am doing right by her with the chronic meanness. On a related note, I kind of wish this was a real-life production so I could buy Heather an ice cream cone.
Dun dun duuuhhn – – – — Also got an adorable Fanart today from Ed Gedeon of Everyday Heroes
I deliberately left the emblems off Heather and Amanda's shirts in Jessie's flashback. I don't think her attention to small detail is very top notch. XD
If I were studying to be a teacher, this would be the sort of situation I hoped never to face.
Amanda's reactions actually surprised me a little. I sketched panel four with more of an "exclamation" expression, but it didn't look right no matter how I drew it. Tried a few other expressions, and this is the one that felt right to me.
Baaaaaaaad luck, here. Just a heads up, I have a good chunk of my holiday get-together’s coming up this weekend, including a trip out of town for New Years Eve. There may be a chance of not having a comic[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
This was originally gonna be two comics, but I compressed it a bit.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! If you celebrated Christmas, hope you had a great holiday! And as for today’s update, those of you who guessed Heather was the thief almost immediately, pat yourselves on the back.
As always with Tony's french, if "Quoi" is inaccurate for a flat "what?", feel free to inform me.
And we’re back to the classroom! I got a couple things to share. First, I received a lovely piece of fanart from Deviant Artist Colanah the other day that I wish to share: Thanks Colanah! I also have a small[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
More experimentation with the backgrounds. Stating to think using vector lines all this time was a bit of a crutch. :(
I haven’t done a Sketch Day Saturday in awhile, but since it’s Halloween weekend, this is a good time I think. Come back on Saturday to see a sketch of Selkie dressed up as a video game character! Which one?[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Amanda’s displeasure face makes me laugh. I also have an addition to the Ancillary Art page. A seating chart for Selkie’s class I made for reference: The three “devil orphan” kids are in this class, coincidentally (ha ha). The girl[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I don't yet know much about Chanelle, but apparently she loves math!
And now we introduce Mrs. Mina Afkhami’s student assistant: Ms. Jessie Flower.
Jessie's re-emergence requires a little bit of a retcon to her backstory; Wool Mart shoe clerk is now her job she works during summers and between classes while working towards her elementary education degree. When I created her way back when, I turned out to like her as a character more than I thought I would, and many readers grew attached to her very quickly. So I decided on "student teacher" as a means of giving her a more stable supporting cast position.
And here is the first of the two reader-requested “where are they now” shorts. Hi, Jessie! For those that don’t remember Jessie, she was the shoe clerk that appeared here.
I didn't realize until I was halfway through shading that my panel compositions don't actually SHOW that Alexis is propping her foot on the coffee table. Woops.
