I like the look of panels 1 and 6 with the character layers turned off. Also, bit of an announcement. I think I am long past due for a reader meet-and-greet opportunity, and I’d like to arrange it with a[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
May have slightly overdone it on the emotive reaction panels. Maybe.
I read some webcomics drama on Twitter while finishing up the strip that I’d rather not link to because I don’t want to give it traffic, but it has motivated me to say that I love and appreciate the support[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Amanda's got a temper and, occasionally, a potty mouth.
Heather’s still (justifiably) mad. – – – – – I want to take a moment here to direct you all to a few things. Firstly, my friend Kathleen Jacques who does the so-much-freaking-fun comic Band vs Band has set up[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I've filmed college games from the sidelines where soccer players took one hundred mile per hour flying balls right into their gut, shook it off and started running back down the field to help score a goal. Soccer players are a lot tougher than me.
Gonna be picking up some of the secondary threads again here. – – – – – So something you all may not know about me is that I occasionally commit the greatest internet hubris; googling myself. More specifically, I sometimes[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I tweaked my background texture brush to be more random in it's orientation so the spread of texturing feels less patterned and clumpy. The pink emotive panel is also using a new watercolor-ish brush I made that selects colors semi-randomly along preset fore and background colors (pink and white, in this instance).
I clicked what I THOUGHT was an innocent Comicpress update, but apparently it was a full conversion to Comic Easel and now a lot of the site is completely BORKED. So things my be rough for a bit but hopefully[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
For the hospital panel I thought, "It's a single splash panel, I'll work it out quick and fast then worry about the rest of the strip." Quick and Fast turned out to be a majority of the production time. XD
I had a few issues when I was younger of getting befriended by kids who just wanted to manipulate me or case my house out for stuff to steal. It suuuuuuuuucked.
-EDIT- Apparently I forgot to draw Todd’s rash. Not the first time that’s happened either. XD A few weeks ago I had the privilege to visit a classroom in my town after the teacher saw the article about me in[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Dialogue in a previous strip implied Amanda had already left the office between strips. I didn't really mean for that to be the case. :(
The office seems to be getting a bit full. XD Also, if you happen to be returning, I updated the Director Commentary with some new tidbits. :3 Thanks to Karl for prompting the train of thought.
I really liked the way this one looked without shadows and almost left it at flat colors. Changed my mind though. Also, I originally intended to address the speed with which Barbara Fairweather arrived at the school comparative to Todd directly, but changed my mind because I felt focusing on Todd immediately recognizing her flowed better. But in my first draft, the first few panels were like this: John (the principal): Mrs. Fairweather! We didn't expect you so soon. Barb (holding a smartphone, terse): Shopping. Cellphone. Buying hazelnuts. Ran some redlights.
