Huh. Don’t know what color I thought Henri was, but brown wasn’t it… Didn’t picture you-know-who as a blond the same shade as Todd, either.
(I think I just don’t mentally assign colors to black and white strips!)

And I concur, repeats in the middle of the season are the worst.

Backgrounds are a locative, their Reason d’Eter is to provide time, place, or other context. They can be beautiful, distracting, or integral, but really just are supportive of “keeping continuity.” Oh! And they are often a break from action, a “resting place” in a tense exchange, to allow the reader to re-set and take a breath. Dave uses them in a way that seems unschooled but is Neither naive nor ineffective.
Um, did we ever learn the devil’s name?
Oh right, Dave called him Lucy. Anyway, what’s weird is I went back to read the parts with him in it and One of the commenters mentioned him saying “human beachball” over a year ago but he apparently hasn’t said it until now.
Took me all day, but I found the reference! Look in the tags because Dave called him Lucy again. Also, don’t call him Lucy, he is Bringer of Dawn and will spoil stories if you don’t use the proper title.
