Colluding to prevent the free expression of mischief. Tsk tsk.

TODD: Okay, girls. Grandpa and I are done talking. Go get ready for the shop.
TODD: But no more talking about things that we made VERY SERIOUS PROMISES not to talk about. Clear?
SELKIE: Yes, Dads.
AMANDA: I promise, Daddy! I'd NEVER blab about secret stuff! Promise!
ANDI: ...For the record, Amanda just got done bragging about how good she is at sweet-talking her way out of trouble.
AMANDA: I liked you guys better when you weren't working together. Embrace dysfunction!

Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.
There is a reason why gloating is the worst weapons a (super)villain can use again self, Amanda….
Truth be told I have mixed feelings about this, on the one hand I kind of get were Todd is coming from but at the same time he’s being an idiot, I mean Todd kicked the Hornet’s Nest when he decided to open his big mouth and blather on to his mom about the terrible news about her granddaughters and then make a joke about it.
Also I think it’s very stupid for Todd not to tell his parents about this particularly dangerous thing I mean yeah I know it’s an NDA thing, but if the grandparents are going to look after their granddaughters they should know about this stuff, so if something were to go wrong they know who the call and what to do.
I looked at the pages and I couldn’t find anything where the girls were made to sign an NDA or anything, plus their little kids Todd really should have took the girls home, sat down and talked about this with them and explain they can’t tell anybody about this.
Honestly the way Todd and Andy has acted during these last couple pages while understandable in a certain point of view, it is also incredibly dumb.
I can understand the thought they’re acting dumb, and if there wasn’t a very real (in comic) threat of the gov’t literally locking them away for breaking those very same NDA, you know Todd and Andi would be giving a college-level dissertation on the situation.
Oh I get the whole NDA thing, it’s just that Todd kicked the Hornet’s Nest by opening up his mouth if he didn’t want his grandparents to know about this yet he should have just took the girls home explain not to tell anybody and to he should have just kept his mouth shut.
All so the girls were not told to not tell anybody, so they can’t really be blamed for this one not entirely. I mean I guess that they should know better, but the same time it is there grandparents.
Also Todd could just have called Avery and just asked him if it was okay to tell his grandparents about this since they are also the kids caretakers.
I think the reason the girls weren’t made to sign an NDA is because they’re children and can’t legally enter into contracts.
I mean that is true child can’t sign a legal document, unless they have permission from their parents I think. Again I think Todd should not be as mad at Selkie or Amanda because he definitely kicked the Hornet’s Nest with this one was opening his mouth up, he could have just kept it shut and took his kids home and told them not to tell anyone yet. I honestly hope someone calls him out with a, “hey Todd this is your fault for opening up your big mouth.” Maybe not in those words but along those lines.
Foreshadowing to Amanda completely giving it away in a few comics while talking to Tehk.
Exactly this. There’s no way a nine year old is going to be able to resist showing off to someone who mocked her for thinking she could learn to do this very thing that she is now capable of doing.
“Embrace dysfunction” would be a good name for a metal song.
Or a metal band.
Nice try, Amanda,
