Wowee. Due to my not uploading the comic before leaving for class/work/dinner with friends, the comic almost had it’s first late update! Dodged a bullet there!
For those who have asked about Selkie still wearing her shoes in the last strip, by this point she has taken off her coat and kicked off her shoes. With slightly more force and vehemence than was strictly necessary. XD
Also, for those who wondered about Crook’s reaction to Selkie’s arrival, Crook’s reaction is: To sleep through the whole thing!

Oh, also, I discussed in previous commentary posts that I may be doing an anatomy sketch for Selkie’s species. Check with me on Saturday for a sketch update which is most probably that thing!
wow, I wonder whats going to happen with this person. And poor selkie, I know I hated hearing yelling when I was a kid. I always hid in the swamp when my dad would yell and stuff.

Cute fan art! and yes, yelling doesn’t seem to be such a problem for selkie as it was for some of us- smooth topic change, Todd. I wonder if the person the other end the line was once Todd’s friend, girlfriend, boyfriend, or a family member, or what. I know he said they were a friend, but you can be someone’s friend and one of the above.
Yea, but my father was abusive too so yelling usually led to other stuff.
And you can tell she’s a little put off by it because of the little hesitation in her voice.
….I’m surprised no one came up with a question about hiding in the swamp. but, eh, okay
I think most people probably assumed Antonius lived in the Bayou or some similar place as a child. I know if I lived in the Bayou and needed to hide, the swamp would be my first decision. But in a tree so the gators can’t get me.
I hate commenting on post after long periods of time, but I never saw these responses.
Anyways, it wasn’t the Bayou but more of a wetland up here in Wisconsin. We just called it a swamp due to it flooding from the fall to the spring and had tons of vines and fallen trees covered in moss and that.
Hid in the woods here, advantage of living backed onto nigh on 30 miles of forest. Could never be found :p
The plot thickens…
Todd looks so downtrodden now. I wish he didn’t have to practice his “It’s fine, but not really, but I don’t want to tell you” face so soon. He’s the kind of guy that deserves a little bit of a nicer situation. Whoever is on the other end needs to clean up their language! And it makes me a little sad that Selkie could actually be used to yelling. Just breaks my heart a little.

Is that Todd’s father or someone on the line I wonder? Guess we’ll find out later :d
O-oh-oh-oh! A new mystery! Firstly, Ms. . . oh, what was her name? The tall one at the reciptionist’s desk back at the orphanage? Her whole backstory seems to be… most likely relevant in the future. And Selkie! One of the first mysteries to arrive (Shortly after was the frog-and-cigar thing, which was solved)! And, now this.
Perhaps this is an ex? Well… We’ll just need to wait and see!!!
Also, since Selkie arrived at the Orphanage when she was five, does she has any past memory of her family? Like, I know she remembers their language and what not, but does she remember her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, whatever? General caretakers of the same race?
And do I get an award for most longest comment? Unless somene dare challenge me!!
p.s. Sorry my Orphanage Kids pic hasn’t been sent to you yest, Dave, ‘S just my tablet pen crapped out on me :(. So, while I reconfigure this new one, my lines, coloring, shading and texts have been all sloppy and the file won’t colour, or save, properly. It shall be up… perhaps next Thursday?
