Sorry for the late update. Got my timezones crossed. As I mentioned on Wednesday, this is an “art-lite” update since I’m out of town to hit SNAFU-Con. Regular strips should resume monday!
Goat is so good.

Well now I want to try goat meat.
Done properly, goat is delicious. Either find a GOOD Mexican joint that sells Cabrito, or hit up a Lebanese or Greek Restaurant. Any of the above should provide you with the proper introduction to tasty tasty goat.
Goat can be pretty tasty depending on how it’s cooked and whether or not the person doing the cooking actually knows how to cook it. I tried it once long ago an an ethnic fair. The purple color of the meat kind of surprised me, but the flavor of the shish kebab’s was awesome.
TIL: Goat meat is purple. I had no idea.
Thirding the “find a place that does it proper” sentiment. 🙂
Fourthing this notion. Goat is amazing meat. My mom is an amazing cook and introduced me to eat with some grilled goat burgers. She gave me this spicy ketchup to go with it knowing I like spicy food and a cheddar and swiss cheese top with sourdough hamburger bun. It was utterly amazing.
And there goes me abusing the word amazing. Not intentional, but hey. Is good for you. Put hair on your chest.
Your life is incomplete until you’ve had a good Indian goat curry.
Haven’t tried goat before, but kangaroo. Omegosh, so yum.
And this comes from someone who normally isn’t a fan of meat.
Goat is amazing, simply amazing. We used to raise our own; when we would butcher them out we would throw a huge party.
Never done the butchering bit but I have been to a full spit roast party, they had Lamb and Pork spits too. Good times ^. ^
Wait until she tries shawarma.
Or, there’s the (male) goat with curry I had for dinner with the chief engineer of a freighter from India once. Tasted fine, but it was my digestive tract’s first encounter with curry. I wonder sometimes just how entertaining the next 3 days were for my wife.
Goat’s milk is pretty darn awesome as well! Very sweet, and very nutritious. Back when I was 7 or so, I was really, really skinny. Enough so that my school expressed concern to my mother. She found a local farm that raised goats and bought milk from them. Seems to have worked, judging by my current John Goodman/Brian Blessed-ish proportions.
Nothing’s better than goat’s-milk cheese.
Hear hear! That stuff’s AWESOME.
Brian Blessed, you say? All-England BELLOWING Champion and King Hawkman? Excellent! XD
I got a chance to meet the artist at SNAFU con (if you are in the area, you will definitely want to go). He is one of the nicest gents I have spoken with. I have been honored to have done so. Keep up the wonderful story until it reaches its rightful end.
It was nice meeting you, too!
I love a good goat curry, especially Fijian-Indian style. Nom.
I know she’s a kid and all, but if I’d behaved like this in any sort of restaurant at her age, I would’ve been taken out the parking lot and smacked.
HA!, You were lucky to get taken out to the parking lot… in my family it would have happened right there in the seat!… granted, being the youngest of six, i learned early NOT to do things that would even get me smacked in public from watching it happen to my older brothers/sisters…
Eat this goat, that was probably running around a field and bleating only a few days ago! This is the part of the goat that is used for moving around, just like you move around, and you should EAT IT!
You forgot: “…the goat would’ve eaten you, if given the chance!”
…although, now that I think about it, that might actually be true (at least if it was an already dead [and cooked] person). Goats are notorious for eating pretty much anything, aren’t they?
Did he eat it? Cos ages ago his father told him to eat anything she offers him.
