I like how well Dave’s managing to show us how Scar’s feeling about this conversation, just by how he acts and speaks when compared to previous visits.
But also; what a depressing house. There is 0 colour or decoration. Very prison-coded.
Speaking of color, I don’t think we’ve seen the sarnothi use any colors besides green and black in anything other than clothes, have we? Might be a cost saving thing during war and stuff.
Yeah. My first thought was, “he could make any furniture/decorations he wanted, being an echo” but then realized all his efforts are likely supposed to go to the community. Both as an echo and… you know… war criminal.
I do not understand why she would ask about burritos. First, underwater they would fall apart. But more importantly, the great percentage of them is vegetable.
In a burrito you have meat and cheese.
But you also have onions and tomatoes and salsa and refried beans and the whole thing is wrapped up in a tortilla which is either made of corn or wheat.
Selkie asked about burritos because, living among humans, she’s familiar with burritos, and thinks these things resemble them. It doesn’t matter if she likes or doesn’t like burritos (that could have become relevant if Scar answered “yes”, but not to asking the question in the first place), only that she’s seen them enough to recognize them.
On top of that, she may have eaten versions that were carnivorified(?) i.e. veggies replaced with more meat (and cheese), like a lot other dishes we’ve seen her get.
Darn it, now I want an eel-rito.
Same.
Makes me think more like sushi rolls than burritos, but that depends on if it’s completely enclosed or open at the ends.
Damn it, now I want an eelrito. what have you done to me?! Unagi is my favorite sushi-like dish!

Does scar actually talk, or does her just open his mouth and generated English comes out of the collar?
It’s like an electrolarynx ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1fclIP-g50 ) but somewhat more robust due to sci-fantasy shenanigans.

Why would she even think about burrito?
She likes burritos.
I think you’re overthinking it.

The shape and general “food in a wrap” build made her think of it.
at least its not a nudibranch
