That is one of the 3 possible questions I could think of…
Second is about her being a Jin’sorai since they are supposedly rare, and she thought she was the only one on the surface or something?
The third I am keeping to myself until tomorrow…
I have a dumb question. Does Selkie think those two are adopted?
Think about that a minute. All of her relationship her own people has shown children of this clan with parents of this clan. And children of that clan with parents of that clan. And parents of this other clan with children of this other clan. All same / same. And here we have two people that sure sound like their brother and sister and they are obviously two different clans.
But through her family she is completely aware of people of different races being in the same family – black parents, brown daughter, white son. All because of adoption.
If I was in her place I would think “adoption”. Heck, I’m not in her place and I thought “adoption” when they first showed up.
“How do we get down, again?”

Wrong question. Getting down is easy. Getting down SAFELY…. now that’s a whole ‘nother question!
My rule of thumb: A question is only dumb if you already know the answer or can find it out easier than the one you ask.
is it racist?

I’ve found that that question often precedes a profound one.
“If you can ask it for a smart reason, sure.”
“How many wheels could a real eel feel if real eel could feel wheels?”
They don’t have woodchucks in Sarnoth.
Do they have wheels?
Honestly, I think its about the haircut. We’ve only seen the very ‘humanised’ Sarthoni wear their hair short.
That’s where my mind went too.
With the short hair and that age, maybe she wants to know if Selkie is a boy or a girl.
