That says to me that that’s not the dress. Something that she in the dressmaker cobbled together out of scraps of material just to mess with Selkie’s mind. “She’s supposed to hate it.”
I have no idea. I did not put my comment in this thread. I put it at the tail end – the last post. The software moved it. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. Take it up with the webmaster.
When (If) she and Steve have kids, Marta will realize that kids generally don’t have a sense of fashion. (Granted, some adults don’t have one either but that’s beside the point.)
Green and purple just tends to make me think of Barney now, or the Joker. (I know that Selkie isn’t purple but her current shirt makes me think of purple, and I feel like that dress needs a shirt under it.)
That doesn’t really qualify under blue or purple but both I guess (was more thinking what color my 2.5 year old niece would call her, since periwinkle is NOT in her vocabulary and she considers mahogany to be red). Might also depend on the lighting and what she is wearing in how her skin tone is brought out.
That seems like it would be a very revealing dress, not appropriate for a child to wear. That thin strap would barely cover a female’s chest (or um, half the chest?) enough to prevent an indecent exposure charge, and the simplified shape of that sewing dummy makes it hard to tell whether the skirt part is really long enough to hide the underwear.
Yeah, I’m thinking Selkie’ll want a leotard or a leggings/tight shirt combo under this. It’s perfectly doable once you add those though, and they can be skin colored too (gymnastics/dance costumes work this way often)
Dress forms usually go from neck to just above mid-thigh, so I think the skirt would be just barely long enough in a standing position, but too short for walking, sitting, or being somewhere breezy. Tights would be a must.
As for the bodice … yeah, no way would that work, unless this is the back and the chest is more covered around the other side with the band across the back holding the panel in place. The band could, technically, hypothetically, work as a censor bar, but having it tight enough to ensure it stays in place would be uncomfortable at best. There’s tape meant for holding clothing ‘just so’, which I assume hurts less than attaching it with regular tape, but that also sounds uncomfortable. An underlayer would be more comfy and more practical.
Reminds me a bit of the clothes the sarnothi wear underwater
Which side is the front?
Yes, either side can be front, depending on the dominant arm.
“Uh, Selkie, that’s a joke.”

Ok, but which side is the front?

At least it matches her eyes?
Oh, they do. It’s how fashion evolves. Those kids become adults and then their preferences end up as the dominant trends.
I see issues. Both with Sarnothi and Human physiques.
Some of them major wardrobe malfunctions (that’s a reference, son.) and someone just having their GILLS hanging out.
Having gills hang out is fairly normal in Sarnothi fashion. They need em to breathe, yknow

Do it Dave.

She’s Periwinkles 🙂

Ah, the good ol’ lime green, lime green, and tangerine
I’m glad I’m not the only one who caught that
Amanda is also a junior bridesmaid, isn’t she?
I feel like she’s going to have more objections to this color choice than anyone else. 😀
