Heh, reminds me of my sense of humor with the kids. Blatant lies, deadpan style. See how easily they pick up on what’s true and what’s not. I figure a little skepticism will help them as they grow — it’s important to remember that the truth of a person’s statement is not determined by how positive they feel toward you or how firmly they believe it; our loved ones can be mistaken, too!
Actually, also, it’s really good to see Amanda cheerfully interacting with Todd in a normal manner. Quite the change from Andi’s concerns about Amanda getting ostracized (or breaking down) during Christmas!
No wonder Pompeii went out of business, the crust – heck, the whole pizza was always burnt.
If Chucky’s is anything like the pizza is in Venezia, no one would eat there.
I hope they make Chicago style pizza there, infinitely better, though I have had great pizza in New York, and D.C. Does have some remarkably good pizza. I hope Mandy’s party isn’t at Chucky’s. … Wait, are they going to invite Keisha and the gang. No Heather for sure, but who’s gonna come, too? Mari and the gang, for shor, but will Andi’s Mom show?
If you know what Matzoh is, I got something like a sheet of matzoh, smeared with two tablespoons of red,… Sauce,… And like a tablespoon of shredded cheese. Maybe they didn’t like ”mercans at that restaurant.
Yu are talking about the one in Italy, right?
Well, they haven’t interacted much yet, give it time. I’ve seen blood-related sisters who cause far more fire, explosions, screams of rage and declarations of nuclear war than Selkie and Amanda.
(When they grew up they became pretty much inseparable. It was a process. A long, drawn out, vicious process, but hey, so was WWII.)
I’m going to guess that the glowing isn’t under control yet. Not sure if this is a new day or just continuing on from the trip to see Pants (because he did kinda steal the show), but good touch either way with the sunglasses!
I can’t quite recall the sarnothi anatomy drawings, does anyone remember if they have internal or external ears? If they’re internal, the mental image of the arms of the sunglasses being taped to her head is giving me giggles
…hmm. On further review, looks like Todd walked, Amanda ran after, and they’re in the same relationship to each other at a different location in the apartment. It just seemed really odd. And did Amanda just stand there for a moment to let Todd get a head start?
“I have longstanding insecurity issues, and the idea that you may possibly not throw me my first proper all-about-my-day birthday party is not a thing to joke about.”
Um… What was your childhood like if you think that a nine-year-old wanting a birthday party counts as demanding special treatment?
Especially given that Amanda has either 1: Never had a birthday party, 2: had a birthday party that was ruined by the abusive/neglectful relationship she had with the family that briefly adopted her, or 3: only had shared parties with other kids who were born in the same month, best case scenario, so it’s not unreasonable that she’d want to actually celebrate her birthday with her family and have a special day all to herself and not have it ruined by abusive or neglectful people.
To Rater202: I’m so old I don’t remember being nine, but if I the childhood I recall is the one that was mine, and not one I got to see second-hand, then I recall that Christmas was about giving to others, and you got what Santa picked for you, not what you wanted.
The Birthday, on the other hand, was that time out of the whole da*n year, when you were offed the chance to say something and be heard- without input from brothers and sisters: “what kinda cake would you like fer yer birthday, Hon?” Or “Hon, did you want anything special as a gift?” “If someone were offered a choice, Hon, would someone want the seashore, or the mountains fer their Big Day?” (Side note; Mountains, like, Duh!). So Birthdays were big, because instead of being treated like one of the kids- for one day- you were treated like your opinion could influence the real world. And not just get ‘what is best for the whole family, as a whole.’
That I agree with. I like that Amanda has grown so much since we first saw her, and seems like she’s starting to feel secure where she is now. They may do the all girls in your class thing, which means both Heather and Kisha, esp. since Heather is Todd’s boss’s boss’s daughter, so playing nice there does make sense. Since both Todd and Andi have apartments and not something bigger, I can see this being out somewhere, I can’t even guess where though!
Dave, OMG, panel three- a glimpse of Mandi as she will be, as a mid-teens heartbreaker. She looks just like I imagine Andi did at 15 years! Foreshadowing!

Pompeii never recovered and eventually a Chuck E Cheese moved into the place. It’s just not the same.
No wonder Pompeii went out of business, the crust – heck, the whole pizza was always burnt.

I dunno, I’ve had some spectacular pizza in Venezia.
You’re not gonna find Chicago Deep Dish there, though. Not even the same RACE of food as real Italian pizza.
Both are awesome, though, just different.

Yu are talking about the one in Italy, right?
… Am I wrong, or are Selkie and Amanda getting along better lately?
Well, they haven’t interacted much yet, give it time. I’ve seen blood-related sisters who cause far more fire, explosions, screams of rage and declarations of nuclear war than Selkie and Amanda.

I think this is just right after the trip, I asumme getting the sunglasses is why Todd was a bit late.
Paaannnntttsssssssssssss
XD Heh. Nice one Selkie.
At least those goobers are sort of on the same side now.

In the last frame you can see some kind of string or strap extending from the glasses frame and going into her hair.
IIRC, IMAO, IF I recall Correctly,… They have ear holes, like us, but without the external cartilage. That is, IF. I recall correctly.
Re: Transcript. Why are you using future tense for something that has already happened?
Time-Space paradox!
Hey, how is Amanda running in that one panel if the panels before it and after it show her at exactly the same place relative to Todd?
…hmm. On further review, looks like Todd walked, Amanda ran after, and they’re in the same relationship to each other at a different location in the apartment. It just seemed really odd. And did Amanda just stand there for a moment to let Todd get a head start?
Amanda = the worst.
“I better get treated special or i’ll throw a huge fit!” Good (fish)lord!
Yeah, least favorite character next to Andi.

It’s the wording imo. Throwing a tantrum i would understand, threatening a tantrum is self aware and manipulative.

At least Amanda warned them. My great-niece would be up to Category 4 about now if someone said something like that to her.
