The office seems to be getting a bit full. XD Also, if you happen to be returning, I updated the Director Commentary with some new tidbits. :3 Thanks to Karl for prompting the train of thought.
I really liked the way this one looked without shadows and almost left it at flat colors. Changed my mind though. Also, I originally intended to address the speed with which Barbara Fairweather arrived at the school comparative to Todd directly, but changed my mind because I felt focusing on Todd immediately recognizing her flowed better. But in my first draft, the first few panels were like this: John (the principal): Mrs. Fairweather! We didn't expect you so soon. Barb (holding a smartphone, terse): Shopping. Cellphone. Buying hazelnuts. Ran some redlights.
I watched the movie Contagion tonight before coming home to finish the comic… kind of terrifying if you think about the movie’s subject matter in terms of the real world. I usually hate when color balance makes everything green-yellow in[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I almost cut panel three and redid it more realistically, but to be honest the big angry fireball is what I remember every phone call to my angry parents feeling like whenever I did something bad.
Have a great piece of news to share with everyone today. Some of you may remember me mentioning in last Monday’s commentary thread that I was being interviewed by my local news paper about Selkie. The article went live yesterday![…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
After the last few pages of drama, it was fun to break the mood with some bickering. XD
Sorry about the unfinished comic everyone. I wish I could blame someone or something other than myself, but I had a bit of a procrastination theme this week on homework and such. 🙁 I’ll try to have at least flat[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Forgot to add the Director Commentary at first. >_< Amanda is a difficult character to write for. She is troubled and vindictive, but also just a kid. She has modes of thinking that an adult or teenager with a similar personality wouldn't use. There's a lot to juggle with Amanda, and sometimes I wonder if I am doing right by her with the chronic meanness. On a related note, I kind of wish this was a real-life production so I could buy Heather an ice cream cone.
Baaaaaaaad luck, here. Just a heads up, I have a good chunk of my holiday get-together’s coming up this weekend, including a trip out of town for New Years Eve. There may be a chance of not having a comic[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
This was originally gonna be two comics, but I compressed it a bit.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! If you celebrated Christmas, hope you had a great holiday! And as for today’s update, those of you who guessed Heather was the thief almost immediately, pat yourselves on the back.
As always with Tony's french, if "Quoi" is inaccurate for a flat "what?", feel free to inform me.
And we’re back to the classroom! I got a couple things to share. First, I received a lovely piece of fanart from Deviant Artist Colanah the other day that I wish to share: Thanks Colanah! I also have a small[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
More experimentation with the backgrounds. Stating to think using vector lines all this time was a bit of a crutch. :(
They have the “dodge” part of the game down nicely. – – – – – I got some fan art sketches in this morning I wanna share, courtesy of Mike L: Thanks Mike!
I had written a "good to see you" line for George before I remembered that seeing Sandy and Wu isn't a reunion meeting for him. Doh. XD
