In my head canon, Andi just had no idea how to set up a room for an eight-year old so she's winging it with a shopping trip.
There was a point in the early drafts where Keisha was so hurt by not being taken along, she did a heel-turn into villain territory. About 3/4 through the Truck arc I started thinking, "Christ, do I really want this revenge theme to keep being a thing?"
In the pencil sketches, I drew Amanda's eyes in panel 4 a bit too quickly and she ended up with askew irises. She looked like a chameleon.
The "are you really my mom" conversation is gonna be next strip because I don't want to compress it too much for this one.
Was going to use the standard cartoony hearts instead of the anatomical-ish one, but I thought that looked like it suggested Valentines Day, romance and etc. I like this approach more for conveying that pounding behind the ribcage.
