It seems that Heather’s mother seems keen on her going. However, since it has something to do with Amanda (even tangentially) Heather wants no part of it.
My guess was that Heather doesn’t think she -can- be rude to Amanda, because of their complicated relationship stuff that adults don’t have a place micromanaging.
I sure do hope she doesn’t just hate Amanda forever now )=
Two years later I still feel the same way… I have had my mom pull me away from a conversation with my close friend and inform me I was being rude for her, and it was like ??? you have NO IDEA what our relationship is like. shes a piece of shit most of the time so I get to be a piece of shit back you literally have no idea what youre talking about this is how we TALK
and considering Heather constantly tolerates and works around Amanda’s temper tantrums, I feel they have much the same dynamic, where Heather feels entitled to be as rude as she wants to.
Little Stevie tried to bully me one day, bending my arm up behind my back. He was twice my size, think Baloo & Mowgli… I don’t know what he thought he was doing, I’m not sure he knew. I tried everything to get him off, so I bit him. He accused me of cheating, I accused him of bullying, he thought it over and we were friends. And he never betrayed that.
But anyone who Had been a friend and betrayed that friendship, I never went back to being friends with. There was no trusting them. Maybe she feels that way about Mandi, too crazy to re-be-friend.
I wonder how kid friendly the art is at this Gallery and why do I get the feeling that there is a reason for Andi to mention for the parents to come and that Andi is going to get a parenting 101 lesson about what’s child appropriate . While, I don’t think that the kids in the strip are sensitive to violence, I just have a hunch something bad is going to happen for drama sake .
For all I know, the art show will be drama free. But, Andi is like tempting fate with how casual she is about talking with the principle. She might as well added what could possible go wrong ?.
Well, kids at that age are so well behaved. You’re probably right, nothing will go wrong. They are kids, the random Objet d’Art is hideous expensive. I think we got it all covered. Now all we do is wait for, … No, no, not Candle J……
Yo dudes, you need to start hating on Amanda more! She is so’s means ands you give too much sympathy and say she is misunderstood but she hates Selkie for no reason other than when she arrived at the orphanage Selkie was the main focus. How is that anyone’s fault! How is that Selkie’s fault!!
Hi Mersang, please don’t call me a troll because I am not. I adore Selkie ( the comic, race and character) and and I appreciate that you and various other readers find Amanda’s “intense dislike” of Selkie realistic and consider it ‘normal behaviour’. However, I am merely saying I have sympathy for/empathise with Selkie and her situation. I, again, emphasise that I am not a troll but simply someone who believes bullies should be stood up to. I don’t want a truce ( because that would spoil it) but maybe if Todd could side with Selkie more or if Andy could stop letting Amanda walk all over her and be a bit firmer. Don’t get me wrong i do not wanna character assassination session or a Dave-diss coz this comic rocks but just maybe if someone other than Selkie( and apparently Heather’s new dad) could see Amanda’s new colours for just once that would be cool. Please no haters coz i am just making an observation.
I don’t know you well enough to know it you’re a troll or not. I was noting the possibility that you were one, since your specific words “you need to start hating on Amanda more” implied that you were trying to start a fight; a plan which I would have been playing into by responding.
I do agree that it would be implausible for Amanda and Selkie to form a truce, let alone a friendship. Amanda needs to mature a lot and probably get some therapy before she’s ready to have a healthy friendship with anyone, and I don’t think it’s healthy for a person to seek out friendship with someone who actively dislikes them.
K, maybe using the word ‘hate’ was a bad way of putting it.I just want to know if i am alone or if anyone else shares my views. Yes that level of pettiness is what makes her a believable 8 yr old but does no-one think that someone ought to confront Amanda, or maybe Ken should just be all like ‘yo be nice to heather’. I agree that therapy would be good solution, Andi should take it upon herself as the mum to get Amanda some help. I think she (amanda) should apologise to Heather- and Selkie- but I am aware of the unrealistic-ness and impossibility of my wish; so i am just gonna say Yes MaronaPossessed, Keisha face meme does begin :3
Hey Dave, I have an anatomical question for you. How strong are Selkie’s “toes” (the strips of bone or cartilage or whatever it is between the webbing on her feet, like the “fingers” on her hands)? Like, if she goes on tiptoe, are they strong enough to support her and help her balance, or is all of the balancing and weight on the end of her foot, where the webbing starts?
Selkie can stand on tiptoe (on the balks of her feet), but because her toes make up half her foot length, she’d be standing with her foot, visually, bent in half.
I can see it now- Selkie gazing at an artwork, while eating a whole fish in the manner of a chocolate bar. The other patrons are uncertain as to whether she’s part of the exhibit.
Every time she says “dads” I am briefly disappointed once more by the fact that he’s not raising her with his husband. She needs to fix her pluralization problem because it makes me sad that Todd’s not bisexual and living comfortably and happily with a man.
“I want to go art” could be a great catchphrase for a gallery or an art school.
I want to go to there.
<3
I can’t help but think they’ll be disappointed, they seem to be hyping themselves up quite a lot… 😀
Also not sure how exactly Heather’s being rude there either…
It seems that Heather’s mother seems keen on her going. However, since it has something to do with Amanda (even tangentially) Heather wants no part of it.

Heather’s face looks bigger than her mom’s. That’s making them look like the reverse age-relationship from what they should have. Weird.
Probably because Heather is closer to the fourth wall.
I’d take my niece to see an art exhibit she was excited by. Just because I don’t understand it doesn’t mean she has to not understand it.

Hey! No spoilers!

The Keisha Face meme begins.
I love Keisha! She’s sweet and stubborn and loyal and just a dear little girl. I’m always happy to see her make an appearance.
That level of pettiness is what makes her a believable eight-year-old.
(Apologies to Dave and other readers if I am feeding a troll here.)

Yes.

Maybe Antoine can babysit while Todd is on a business trip or something.
Dave, just a side note – it’s nice to see a softer side of Giselle. Thanks! 🙂 BTW, I hope to see Jessie at the art show…???
I just noticed… Selkie’s hair is growing longer! It’s starting to curl up a bit at the bottoms, too. Neat, Dave!
