I wonder what Todd is planning on purchasing… hhmmm….
Also, The Adventures of Sue and Kathryn is Selkie’s favorite cartoon. We’ll see them in more detail later.
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.
Oh that smile, hehe she is so cute!!!
If I was Selkie i would just wear the bear slippers through the store come on everyone is doing it
Her smile in the last panel reminds me of the Grinch’s smile in the original cartoon movie…. And why doesn’t he just get her those sandals that go across the top of the foot? They’re adjustable, ‘shoes’, and aren’t very likely to pinch her feet….
She called him Dad 🙂
i just noticed, it says u play tf2! wuts ur sn?
Strawberrycocoa. I also use a Selkie spray in game, so keep an eye out for one of my shameless advertisements. XD
Not being familiar with TF2 (don’t have live), what is a spray exactly?
Spray is like Digital Graffiti in game.
Yeah, you walk up to a wall and press the spray button and whatever image you have set as ur spray is platered on the wall til the game ends. pretty easy and cheap advertisement lol. though some people use it tactically as a distraction 😉
THIS is how the color is supposed to be.
Ya, I missed the outlines.
No harm in experimentation:) I’m playing with stuff on my site.
Yes … experimentation was good. This is better. I like the look and “feel” of your characters (and the color) much better than with the past two expirementals.
Panel 6: Don’t give in to the puppy dog eyes, Todd! 🙂
I missed the outlines too, they look so much more natural for this comic.
So glad to see the outlines back…and boy, does Selkie know how to wrap her dad around her little webbed finger. Did she practice this?
Selkie+puppy dog eyes= ADORABLE! 😀
and just what is Todd planning on getting? :3
Yes … Todd is definitely going to have a problem saying “no”, isn’t he? LOL
These past few strips have probably moved “Selkie” to the top of my “list”. Dave, you are a great story teller!
Yeah, but this a harmless one. What parent in the world would make their child wear shoes that are hurting them? look at her face when she puts those things on.
On second note, Dave this is my second day reading comic, and i am absolute fan. As an aspiring writer of adoption novels, i applaud you on the portrayal here. It is really heartwarming. hummm… I wonder if this in the Sweet Dream Fuel page on TvTropes… if not it is soon going to be!
it is, or will soon be, SUSHI TIME. prepare, otherwise SUSHI TIME will catch you unaware. CONSTANT (SUSHI TIME) VIGILANCE!!!
also, getting Selkie shoes seems to be like trying to find shoes for flat-footed Barbies.
The dad’s eye view in frames five and six are an awesome addition. Gives you a much better idea of how kids and adults see one another.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSUCKAAAAAAAAAAAA LOL!
Oh c’mon guys, I don’t think Todd is going to cave in to everything that Selkie ever wants. He’s just feel sympathetic for the poor girl! ): I had (and still do) the worst time finding shoes when I was little and it’s no surprise that Todd wants to help her feel a tiny bit better about the whole ordeal.
I think he’s doing a great job. Selkie’s a very lucky little girl. 😀
This style is easy to see and looks good. However, it lacks uniqueness. And I think that uniqueness is something you want to achieve.
One of the great things about being a parent is that you can make your kids so happy by doing the little fun things like buying slippers and letting the kid walk out of the store in them. Then the kid gets older and thinks you’re the greatest, and does what you ask (like coming home by 10) because they know you like them. 😀
Really liking this artistic style! Thanks.
And LOVING the story.
