Selkie’s been at the orphanage long enough for the caretakers and other kids to be used to her. And Todd is just too polite to say things like, “what in the world is that kid?”
I love this comic! It’s so delightful and sweet. Being an adopted child myself I really can relate to that “I’m weird” feeling that happens sometimes. While I wasn’t ever in an orphanage myself I still find it to be a very touching story and one that should be told. I’m definitely going to keep reading.
lol, I get that feeling sometimes. It’s like, “It’s so obvious why I’m not doing this, could you quit bothering me?” Gah, today is just not my day. It’s ok Selkie, let’s chill out/be loners together. Humans make me so mad.
Had a dream about this webcomic last night. It started with all of the kids lining up outside the orphanage, todd was pinning yellow badges to all the kids he didn’t choose, and finally came to selkie and gave her a blue badge. She smiled, teared up, hugged him, and then opened her mouth wide and latched on to his back between the shoulder blades, living a lamprey-like existence on his blood.
I got linked here about two weeks ago from Dominic-Deegan, and even though I know this comic has only updated on Monday and Thursday, I check back every day to see if there’s been an update on the sly, read the comics, or just to start all over and read it from the beginning… Again! I love how the comic is taken at a bit of a slow pace. It’s nice to be able to come home from in a fast-paced world, turn on the computer, and just chill with a nice, slow paced comic like this. It’s unfortunate (maybe fortunate for you) that there aren’t more comics like this one! I look forward to seeing this story progress.
I happen to land to this page and it is a good written read, a little bit on the long end, but a fairly satisfactory one.
I really adore the layout too, it is altogether very easy to navigate.
Just found this. And I like it. So hi, hey, and all that stuff.
This is awesome! Im totally coming back to read more.
One thing clear….nobody’s wondering why she’s a fishy? (5th panel)
Also, the kid I adored is apparently Filipino (you just had to add color in.
Yeah, just got off work XD keep doing a good job Strawberry 😛

well she has a good grasp on what she is and that no one likes her…. well not in the comic hehehe
Somehow I thought Georgie was blond.
As to why nobody thinks Selkie’s all that unusual, maybe they’ve all heard of Innsmouth?
lol @ Innsmouth. This make anyone else feel a slight pain in their heart?
Poor purple-hued Selkie, people with periwinkle skin get no respect. I know from experience.
Periwinkle? I thought she was grey…

No offence, but could we please hurry up and see Selkie get adopted! We all know your trying to torture us.

That is a crazy dream!
Man, I really wish you updated more than twice a week. I keep catching myself checking to see if you slipped in an extra day, just in case.
The lack of backgrounds drives me crazy, I like the plot though.

“Someone’s having a bad day.” Indeed!
I am anxiously awaiting the look you give Selkie’s face when the “impossible” happens … =-o

I’m glad that Georgie is nice to her. There’s at least one other child who isn’t mean.
