No point to tell regardless how they feel. They already know she is a very dramatic child with a loose grasp on Sarnothi in general. Most likely their response is “Oh I see…”
Also maybe don’t tell who your bio-dad is. At least not until you know they know for sure you don’t approve his… um… reason to be (in)famous.

Y’know, Selkie did seem kind of unhappy when we first met her at the orphanage. Seemed like it was pretty bad, though not absolutely horrible.
I would assume that most children in an orphanage would be unhappy.
