For those that may be interested, I uploaded a couple of my better student art projects to my Deviant Art account.

Some of the items in that gallery are oooooollllld, so don’t judge me too harshly. XD
I was going to have Todd offer Andi a beer, but then I remembered it's still late morning at this point in the narrative. This almost led me to include a line about how Todd decided to stop keeping beer in the apartment because of post-adoption inspections, but it was too wordy to squeeze in.
Andi… doesn’t seem to approve of Selkie in this strip.
Hope she doesn’t wind up being an adult Amanda. Although I’m sure there has to be some reason Todd broke up with her.
After finding out what we did I find this comment hilarious.
I think she’s just wary of her. Wouldn’t you be if you saw a girl like her in real life?
Well, the fact that she’s BLUE could have something to do with that…
Just wait until she sees Selkie grin… ^_^
Periwinkle, not blue.
Try Ctr-alt-Del and The order of the stick.
Somebody is gonna have to update TVtropes after this page, lol.
I agree with Terah by the way.
Sorry, not a cut. Just thought if you liked them, you could add them to your list of webcomics 🙂
Andi impresses me as an utter cow.
On a lighter note, behold, the two-finger hat!
Panel two is awesome. You can just feel their awkwardness.
“Illustration of Fairuza Balk” and “The Miraclemaker” are amazing. I think “The Miraclemaker” is my favorite.
To Terah:
Well, it would be wise for one to generally expect that. Her skin is BLUE.
Are Tood and Selkie giving each other bunny ears in that photo? ^_^
I can´t get over how cute that picture is. Is there any chance that we´ll get a bigger version of this, perhaps as a desktop background?
Man, I was hoping for a sick burn in that last panel.
“You didn’t get that hickey from the sick orphan girl, did you?”
“No. I got it from my *daughter*.”
How did I know Andi would think that was a hickey? XD Nice cover-up, Todd. “I was… clearing out poison ivy.”
“With your face???”
I think Andi needs to reinstall her internal verbal filters. Then again, maybe she just doesn’t have any … could’ve been part of the problem between her and Todd?
I think it’s pretty obvious that Andi didn’t want children, the fact that she calls Selkie a “Sick orphan girl” rather than Tod’s daughter would indicate an attempt to keep things at a distance and keep it from becoming personal and more real to her.
If she continues to keep calling Selkie by less personal names it subconsciously means there is no attachment, hence the possibility that Selkie could just go away and return to being just some orphan girl rather then the much more personal child of someone she cares about.
You see that kind of behavior sometimes with people who are afraid of being hurt. My husband is like that about dogs. When he was a little boy he had a puppy that he was very attached to, one day the puppy got out of the yard and some jerk went out of his way to run it over.
This guy literally drove from one side of the street to the other to hit the puppy and then crossed back into his own lane before heading on. My husband was so traumatized by the incident that from that point on he just said that he didn’t like dogs and keeps very distant from them.
But watching him around friendly dogs, you can tell that it’s not that he doesn’t like them, he just doesn’t want to get attached to another dog and chance being hurt so badly again. So he just keeps avoiding them and saying over and over that he doesn’t like dogs.
Aw Pashakitty, that’s just dreadful. I’m not a vengeful man, but I do hope that driver dies of amoebic dysentery in the open sewer where his childhood home once stood.
I don’t think that that is appropriate. I hope that he gets really, really rich, decides to go to Australia… thinks to himself that it would be great to go scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef… and decides to go alone. There, under the waves, alone, I hope he chances upon a Cone Snail and gets just a little too close. So if you think that I was wishing him well look up what the Cone Snail does and then know that all that wealth won’t save him.
I concur, that’s a terrible thing to have happen. I’ve had a couple dogs hit by cars myself, so I empathize with him.
That’s actually a brilliant point. I can’t believe that never occurred to me haha. Oooh! Maybe now Andi will bond with Selkie and wind up bringing her and Todd back together! (squeals) ^^
I’m terribly sorry about your husband. Give him a hug from all of us!
(Ahem) Can you make it a firm handshake from me? British!
Nice art page, Dave. “Illustration of Fairuza Balk” is fantastic! Can’t wait to see future additions.
Thanks everyone for the sympathies, it was a long time ago and other than his insistence that he doesn’t like dogs, my husband has gotten over it. Heck, even he admits that he just doesn’t want to get close to another dog when he’s being honest with himself.
