Sorry this Head Test is smaller than the last batch. I didn’t have as much extra time as I anticipated due to some last-minute stuff. I think I’ve decided on the thin lines for when this arc is over, mostly[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.
Expect another style-sheet Sketch Day this Saturday. I have a few more things I want to play with, although I’ve decided not to muck with the art style in live strips until this particular arc is over, for consistency’s sake.
Tony and Moonsong have surnames which they retain from being given up by their parents post-infancy; Tony Mollier and Moonsong Starfall. (Moonsong hates his surname)
I wanna thank everyone who commented on the style sheet I posted over the weekend. I have a few more “playing around” ideas I wanna try before I start taking style changes live, but so far I really like the[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
There is a part of me that distresses over Heather's use of the term "real kids", but I also feel "biological kids" is a bit of a mouthful for her, and I don't feel her thought process would phrase it that way.
The comments for Monday’s comic yielded an interesting conversation about the comic’s art style. I thought I’d try a few variations and see if maybe I like something. #1 is done in the usual style, the others all have either[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…

I am going to have another sketch day bonus update this weekend. Although it won’t be a League of Legends sketch this time. In the comments of the last comic an interesting conversation about the comic’s art style popped up,[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Almost all of the characters in the comic have a little something from myself. I am starting to see some of my own weaknesses in Heather.
Selkie can screech, but she generally resists the urge. Heather knows about it but it still freaks her out. – – – – – Anyone who is in or near the Springfield Illinois area, I wanna invite you to attend[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Selkie's ability to screech is something I was originally going to reveal in a more comedic-context in a between-arcs short one day, but I like it here.
I’m pretty bad about remembering to link back to old strips for reference, but I think for this one it helps to remind everyone how that scene went down.
In my original draft of the Shirt Theft arc, Selkie didn't go home early and she and Heather had (most) of this conversation while waiting at the pick-up area for their respective parents.
While I wouldn’t expect someone Heather’s age to do this, I’ve seen soccer players take hits to the sternum with full-force close-range kicks, catch their breath, then jump right back in the game like they didn’t just get slammed with[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…
I believe this is the most panels yet crammed into a Selkie comic. Just had... a lot of stuff I wanted to include.
Third in what may become a series of Sketch Days featuring Selkie cast members dressed as League of Legends champions. This is Keisha dressed as Ezreal. Another one next week. 🙂
I knew I wanted to do Keisha for the next LoL sketch, but wasn't sure which champion fit her. Then it hit me that with the way she likes climbing trees and learning about animals, she suggests an inquisitive personality that felt like a good fit with Ezreal, who is an archeologist and explorer character.
