Uh-Oh: are we getting the reason Selkie’s mother tried to hide her powers?
Should I start worrying now? Or wait for the next few pages to have my panic attack? Asking for a friend.
Cheers Geneseepaws!
Life is strange and exciting. Wishing you more of the fun exciting, and less of the weird threatening excitement! XD.
Baby Selkie remin3d me of ponyo
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!
How young Selkie would have been. 🙁 She’s got to be between two and three here since we know her mother gave her up when she was three. I agree with Trunko’s comment – what happens next is why Plo Quar made Selkie’s suppressor so strong. 🙁
I’m getting Girl Genius vibes here – not that that’s a bad thing, but definitely a similarity.
I’d forgotten Agatha’s necklace was originally a suppressor! It’s been an awfully long time since that was a central story point. Time flies.
Any comparison to Girl Genius should be seen as a compliment, imo. 🙂
Are the runes we see a result of their ability or are they a requirement for some interactions? In this case are they anchors used to swing the stones with energy?
They’re anchor points for the tethers acting as “strings”
Oooh, so this is an interesting one to refer back to:

I’m noticing in this comic that Selkie’s mother’s eyes are a dark green, whereas Selkie’s eyes are that neon green that they always are. I know when she’s been practicing her entire eye will start to glow that neon green, so maybe her level of power has always been naturally high?
