Never turn down a free fish cake.
—EDIT 5/29/2020— Selkie will be updating later tonight. Im saying this here instead of doing the top bar notification because I keep forgetting to remove it afterwards. >_>
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.
Ok, question for today, where is Agent Then hiding?
Wow. I wonder if Te Fahn knows that her mother has a secret identity as a male government agent who’s fluent in English.
Usin’ that invisible tech. He’s been in the background of every comic!
Shit, that’s a good idea. One sec, I have some edits to make.
This made me laugh. 😀 I don’t know if you’re old enough to remember Klondike Kat and his nemesis Savoir Faire. “Savoir Faire ees Everywhere!” But with Then instead. This is probably funnier in my head but I don’t care, it’s still funny and I’m sharing it anyhow. 🙂
I don’t know about Dave, but I certainly remember those cartoons, although I think they might have been reruns even in the 80s.
And I have in fact been known to quote that line.
I don’t remember the cartoon, but I definitely remember that saying! 😀
“I’ll make mincemeat outta that mouse!”
“Mother”? I thought she lived with her aunt and uncle?
That’s Tehk.
Are fish cakes the sarnothi version of cookies? Or something more substantial?
I wanna say how impressed I am with Todd’s attempts to get at least a little better at Sarnothi. Cause he struggled just with names and utterly butchered the clan names in the beginning, so he’s gotten so much better. I wonder if he’ll ever try to learn the language himself, and realize it’d be best NOT to ask Selkie to be teacher, at risk of pranks being pulled on him.
Dave, you have a wonderful comic.
Sincerely,
Alan
I love that apparently the attempt to correct all the excess plurals has led to de-“pluralizing” words that aren’t used as plurals to begin with (like “thanks”). Is she likely to say “pant” for “pants” next, or “panty” for “panties”? What other words are in plural form but used singular, or not actually plurals but just words that end with S’s?
I have to be in the mood for it, but once in awhile I’ll make fried fish cakes out of sardines, cheese and breadcrumbs with a side of spicy mustard.
Dave, Selkie can have tea and stuff, that’s been established. Can she have other stuff, like condiments or is that too concentrated?
Depends on the condiments. Mayonnaise would probably be okay, mustard or ketchup or barbecue sauce would be a no.
Comparing with page 1230. What’s the difference between “Attekai” and “Bonte”?
Is there no way to make a top bar that has an expiration? So it just goes away after expiration and you don’t have to manually remove it?
If there is, I’m not sure of how to do it.
