Oooh, a cliffhanger… Time for guesses on who he is calling….
I am thinking Andi as he is reflecting on the Scar’s sins and Andi’s sins have put things into a bit of perspective and he has some thoughts on it.
I also don’t think it’s Andi, but why wouldn’t the phone tag be his name? On modern devices it pulls that info from your full address book. Long gone are the days of a single short text field with limited characters. Every person I regular call has an entry in my address book with full name. It’s totally normal.
Why would your family/friends have you with your full name? Unless they have several friends/family members with the same name, presumably. Because that’s the only reason I (or anyone I know of) add people’s last names.
In my case, the reason for always adding it is consistency. Family members, friends, my significant other… They all display with their full name when calling (plus their nickname as subheading, if given).
Most people just use nicknames or first names for people they’re close to, largely because there’s no real need to put the person’s full name into the address book to begin with. There may be many “Megan”s in the world, but the one in my cell phone contacts refers to one specific person, so I don’t have her last name anywhere in my address book. No one else uses my phone, so there’s simply no need. My ex has her boyfriend listed as “Mi Amore”, rather than by name.
Sweetums seems a good choice, given their ages (Sweetums – as in Sessame Street), Toddy seems unnecessarily bitter – unless it’s ironic, as does Smitty – a common nickname for Smith, although Smitty is more likely. It could be Baldy, as in he used to shave his head when they were Rockers, … after all, they rocked out! But I’m voting for “Rock god” or mebbe “Guitar Hero” cause it’s too good to let go, (of the past – she’s still shipping Todd, I’m betting).
Totally Avery. Andi is too freaked out by Selkie’s people to be very objective—plus I think Todd still has some resentment towards her about the whole urn/faked death thing (how could he not?). Avery would potentially have a lot more information about Scar and the personal experience/knowledge of Sarnothi culture.
I don’t think so, for the same reason I don’t think it’s Andi. Close personal friends or relatives aren’t likely to use someone’s full name like that. Maybe I’m just weird like that but my own kids are listed in my phone by their nicknames.
I mean, maybe it’s his parents. Lord knows he’s got plenty of reason to want to parse things out with someone. I just can’t imagine either of his parents being full name formal on their phones.

I’m guessing Avery/Agent Brown to discuss the new information he just found out.
I’m guessing Avery as well. Or Pohl, maybe, to continue their earlier discussion.
There’s no way Andi’s phone tag for Todd is “Todd Smith.”
That’s what I was thinking as well. I figure Andi has Todd under a nickname or just Todd. It seemed to formal, that’s why I went to Avery first.

Because the address book has separate first and last name fields.
And that way you can tell people with the same name apart.

And that brings us to a new speculation round: “What does Andi have Todd listed as in her phone?”
Is she the type to list all formal details, or add in a funky nickname for it to pop up under.
What could that nickname be?
Guesses?

Guessing Todd’s calling his parents.

Todd is such a good dad.
He’s calling Avery to find out about pirating a copy of Ponyo. Cops got the best drugs, so it stands to reason Avery has the best pirated movies.
Lol, Avery is pseudo MIB. He might know the *REAL* Ponyo and her sisters live.
I was really confused why Todd’s phone was suddenly interested in airplanes :p
