I took it to mean that Selkie his realized that she is not supposed to speak out loud about “Echo stuff” or “green fire” or “eye lasers”, even the people that know about them. Just in case there’s somebody close by that could hear. So you just call it secret stuff. Not that it’s secret so Andi could not be told. Then it was secret, and could not be spoken aloud.
That’s how I took it as well. Andi’s “Ah – lovely” comment comes across as her understanding exactly what was involved, if not exactly how on the fine details.
