Most those eating challenges have an age restriction on them, most I know are over 18 because they contain a drink of beer (Alcohol drinking age here in Australia is 18 not 21.). But a burger joint I know of had one with 16 as the age restriction.
There’s one here open to all ages. It’s called the sink because it’s an actual, admittedly small, sink filled with an ice cream sundae. No booze involved and you have to finish off all of the ice cream.
We had an ice cream parlor here that had a sundae called the “Pig’s Trough”. If you finished it it was free, but you had to say “Oink, oink, I’m a pig” afterwards.
Nope, Angies in Logan Utah. Small town with a small university that has an impressive engineering program. But no one cares about the town so that’s why I didn’t say where.
Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club at Walt Disney World has a “kitchen sink” sundae, but it’s not actually served in a sink and there’s no reward for finishing it. Still, I thought that’s what you were referring to.
The Big 96 from Durangos has no age restriction, Nor does the buffalo wing eating challenge from any of several places. infat none of the ones ive ever participated in have ever required a beer.
She 😛 and yeah most the eating challenges I’ve seen were at Pubs or Grill houses… yeah our country has a bit of an obsession with beer and BBQ for that matter.
oh amanda…have you forgotten that selkie isn´t the only carnivore there? i´m sure even shy+quiet carrie can pack it away…..i correct todds amendment from teenager to ‘do it in an all-you-can-eat place less you leave your poor parents broke’.
seriously, between selkie and benny, they could be the nightmare of every seafood-buffet owner!
With my friends we made our own eating contests… We go to a restaurant, where for fix amount of payment you can eat as much as you want (drinks excluded, you need pay for them extra), and the loser pay for all (only the food, drinks always was for everyones own bill).

Is that Colonial Ice Cream Parlor (Chicago area)? I still have my “I ate a Kitchen Sink” bumper sticker somewhere.

That is Australia he’s talking about, though. I think most things there involve beer.

Sounds allot like Texas. Lol
… is that the one John Candy’s charger had to eat in “The Great Outdoors”?
Forget Se7en. I’d end up looking like Mr Creosote.
… that was supposed to be at the top level.
Soooo – Selkie and Benny are on the seafood diet?
They see food, and eat it (ba-DUMP dump).
Thank you thank you. I’ll be here all week. Try the veal, and don’t forget to tip the waitresses.
The pun was a bit BLAND, but I’m a GLUTTON for food jokes XD
Blame Henny Youngman. I’m pretty sure it’s his joke.
Come now, at least Alpo’s comedy stylings are tasteful. That’s more than many comedians today can say.
I didn’t think they were in the Borscht Belt…
Probably why Todd’s CAT has no SKILS.
Slight typo in last panel, Dave. I think Avery means “intact”.
There’s also a typo in the commentary. You can’t as Se7en anything. You can ask it though. 😛
It’s also backwards. Ruptured seams would imply it’s overfull. But I’m willing to chalk that up to character error.
Gentlemen(and little ladies). Tonight, WE DINE IN HUGE HELPINGS.
Sorry, Avery, feeding a teenager can be damaging to the membranes of your wallet.
Hey Dave, you spelled “intact” wrong. Forgot a ‘t’ <3
I did not need to remember that scene from Se7en. ><
I read the transcript and snorted. Macabre joke, but a good one.

I’m thinking Selkie and Benny together in one of the Reno or Vegas AYCE buffets where they have the carved meats–
“We’ll take the whole thing, just cut it in half, ok?”
Gotta work on your faces, Dave. Avery’s upper lip is absolutely humongous in the last panel.

Dave, there’s a typo in the last panel. It says “inact” instead of “intact”.
