Custom shoes built to the requirements of not-really-human feet… O_o
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.

Awesome, first comment! Todd’s expression in the small panel is priceless XD.
Problems with the secret commentary again, it’s only showing “Todd didn’t really.”
This seems to happen every time I use quotation marks… thank you for the heads up!
” is a special character in html, which is why you’re having problems. You have to write it like " ;, minus the space.
Ah, thank you much.
None stereotype. Just higher price.
This may sound terribly selfish of me, but could you start updating Selkie more than twice a week soon? Or at least when you don’t have class? Because I am hooked, and having to wait days and days to see what happens next is just killing me! So thanks for the fantastic comic, Selkie has stolen my heart!
Jessie
Aaw, thank you. :3
Sadly, I would hate to tease everyone by going to extra updates during the semester break, then yanking them back down to two a week when classes start back up. I’d rather keep the comic at a manageable reliable pace so I don’t become one of those webcomics where you never know when or even if an update is coming.
Er… Be happy he is not cutting back to once a week.
Is it me, or does it look like Selkie’s not happy about something in the first panel?
Maybe the foot-gauge is cold? : /
Good point. I figured it was the man’s comment about her feet are unusual but it hasn’t seemed to bug her before, as in the Wool Mart chick. Ya got me. Maybe he’s got a bug in his wig?
Just general irritation at having to have her feet stared at a second time.
Iv found myself falling for selkie a while back and losing intrest because of the long wait between updates, but still coming back for more selkie. Fantastic and unique story line. Very cute style to the art work. I love it! it’s now a perm member of my morning comic strip fix. Thanks for giving us this great story to follow.
might want to stop rereading this series everyday… yeah I’m serious. But at least I’ve only been reading it for 4 days now.
Your avatar…Elfen Lied?
yep.
Oh Selkie, you and your precious fishies. I’ve been wanting to say this ever since we saw that pompous jerk, but I can no longer contain myself! *covers Selkie’s ears* You pompous butt-face! Quit looking at us proletariats like we’re lower than you! Take a minute to take that stick out of where the sun doesn’t shine and let me beat you with it! You stupid jerk!!! *uncovers Selkie’s ears* Ok, I feel loads better. Sorry Todd. Oh, and your drawing seems to be getting way better. Todd looks healthier everytime I see him.
Thank you so so much for putting words to what I’ve been feeling towards Gregori ever since he was first shown.
Those shoes had better be durable.
Custom made shoes for a girl who’ll probably outgrow them in a month or two … Todd may have to rethink his position on letting her go barefoot (or wearing her slippers everywhere). And, every time I think Selkie couldn’t possibly be cuter, something like Panel 5 happens.
My brother had a growth-hormone-secreting brain tumor. We got rid of it after much surgery and radiation and he’s basically fine now. His shirt size is XXXLT. His shoe size?
18eeeeee. No, that is the correct number of ‘e’s. He gets to choose between Black or White for shoe style.
We are quite familiar with Todd’s dilemma.
Well, that makes sense that it would be expensive. But I wonder… is it summer? Children tend to use shoes less in summer. Or you could get an open-toe, like an over-the-foot flip flop or slipper.

Hey slippers work! Because of disabilities I have a very hard time putting on shoes and socks. Thus I tend to wear slippers everywhere. Yes they tend to wear out quicker than shoes but Silkie will be outgrowing her show fairly quickly any how.
I’ve had hiking boot built custom for me before.
Yeah, they weren’t cheap, but they lasted over 7 years up camping, hiking up and down mountains, and even working in warehouses and retail.
Storal of the Morey (yes, it is intentional) you get what you pay for.
Thats so true, I bought a good pair of boots for general use and they lasted me about 10 years and I’m just now neading to buy a new pair. If you know what your looking for you can get great quality for a reasonable price.
The CURRENT estimate.
Haha, this much for shoes?
Later he says he is missing a $90 commission. If the commission is 9% then Todd drops $1,000 on custom shoes
