Hmmm… The question is does Todd know or not know what kind of vehicle his ex drives. If he knows, then that light bulb moment it going to happen very, very soon. If not? What a tease! It’s like watching a trainwreck in slow motion.
Considering how long they were together, and that they haven’t been even been broken up for very long, I think he knows very well what her vehicle looks like. That will probably be enough for him to correct the “pigtails” image instantly.
The remaining question is how soon before Selkie mentions that it was not an adoption but Amanda’s biological mother reclaiming her.
Exactly. At this point (especially since Selkie is referring to Andi as Amanda’s “new” mom, rather than her “real” mom), Todd may suspect that Andi adopted Amanda — however, at this point he’s got no reason to suspect that Amanda is his biological daughter.
The other shoe, as they say, is bound to drop sooner or later, though.
So Todd is quite likely to think that Andi — who when they last talked was really against adoption — went out and adopted this kid who’s been giving Selkie a hard time. Knowingly, on purpose? Not aware of the rivalry, in a lame attempt to butter him up? At the very least he’s got to be going, “What the hell?” Lots of questions, no answers.
If Andi doesn’t call real quick with “We’ve got to talk,” he’s liable to call her. Not in the best of moods, either.
I just had a thought — does the interspecies exchange that Agent Brown is overseeing go both ways? Maybe when Keisha gets adopted, it will be by… Plo Quar.
Seriously, I love the Keisha character and I’m so sad for her…though I know the reality is that she has a worse chance of adoption than Heather or Amanda.
Keisha adopted by a Sarnothi character? That would be a pretty awesome solution to the problem, actually. It could happen shortly after they “come out” to the public.
A few strips back there was speculation about Selkie wondering whether she would have to leave Todd if her mother came back. My thought was that Plo Quar and Todd could be drawn together by their shared concern for Selkie, find other common interests, and end up married. Biological children would be impossible, so they would complete their family by adopting… Keisha!
All problems solved. ;-}}
Making room for all the NEW problems….
[snark, snar…. No! Wait! That’s a boojum!]
I’m really glad he spotted the pink truck, because although he still might shrug it off, it seems like it will force the big reveal to come around sooner. I figured Andi would run away, but I would have felt cheated out of an exciting story arc if Todd didn’t see some pretty obvious clues.
The lightbulb over Todds head will be firing up in 3…2…1 Action!
The train wreck is only delayed… not averted.

I went to the site and pushed it 😀

Wierd– I only hit ‘post comment’ once.
Now you know the true power of this fully functional drama-button.
Only a matter of time before he puts 2 and 2 together.
todd now has a big piece of the puzzle, but he’s still missing crucial information. the false conclusions to be jumped to are swarming around him.
You need to be careful about pushing those buttons, you never know what might happen!
I wonder how that comment got off-thread…
Even when Todd does think of Andi, he’s likely to dismiss the idea as to wild to be believed.
Really hoping realization dawns for Todd… slowly, in privacy, and somewhat bearably. Dude doesn’t deserve the blindside he’s got coming.
+1
Yes, and he and Andi can talk about it in private—sans children.

Selkie doesn’t know Andi is Amanda’s biological mom.
Hey, yeah. You’re right, she doesn’t.

<3 Making head cannon. 🙂
I WISH!

Oh goooosh, and then Amanda and Keisha WOULD be sisters in a really roundabout way.
Of course Keisha and Amanda probably wouldn’t see each other for a while, but. Yes. Idea I would very much like to happen.
Keisha adopted by a Sarnothi character? That would be a pretty awesome solution to the problem, actually. It could happen shortly after they “come out” to the public.
Except that Plo Quar is going to come back for Selkie. Or at least, she’s going to be spending quite a lot of time with her.

DUN DUN DUN!
A pink truck, weirdness, pigtais in the front, new adoptive mom; surely it’s nothing.
loving Todd’s mental vision of pigtails in front lol.

That’s a very … “nice truck”?
