Color update later.
Based on some of the comments (sshh) I decided I wanted to retroactively add something to the new girl to make her a bit more distinct from Selkie, and while thinking on that I found myself wondering, ‘do we know what buck teeth look like on a sarnothi?’
Now we know.

Unfortunately buck teeth on a Sarnothi makes ’em look like a vampire. I guess it’s better than humans that look like rabbits.
What do you mean “unfortunately”? Who wouldn’t want to look like a vampire?
…Although now that I think of it, maybe vampire is actually a step down in badassery from sarnothi, the same way rabbit may be from a human.
Now we know.
Terrifying!
Dramatic entrance completed successfully. First impression bonus: +3 to coolness, +5 respect from nearby Jin sorai, -1 patience from others.
And +5 bonus steps down the Evil Genius pathway.
When you retroactively add the buck teeth to the previous pages, consider fixing the typo I mentioned two pages ago. (or tell me, I was wrong – that’s always a possibility (especially with me not being a native speaker) – although I’m quite confident this time )
It occurs to me that most Sarnothi kids must not be used to climbing things if they lived their lives under water.
Did she do the Iron Man landing?
I can’t really tell, because:
1. Selkie is not fully visible.
2. I’m not really sure on the specifications of the Iron Man landing (before looking up the DOA-Strip I was about to call it the Batman landing (And now I wonder why that is one word and Ironman isn’t)).
The dialogue in the first frame makes it look like those two are brother and sister. Their coloring seems to disagree though.
I was about to say “unless one of them is adopted”, but from what I recall when we first meet the obnoxious freckled boy, he had trouble understanding how the human could be Selkie’s father, and I got the impression that adoption was not a sarnothi thing.
Adoption was my first thought as well. But then I recalled* that Sarnothi children of mixed parents inherit the clan-specific features of one parent or the other, but never a mixture. Therefore I believe that these are the children of a Sar’Teri and a Jin’Sorai (whichever the Mom is).
*Don’t remember where exactly that was mentioned, but it was somewhere around the idea of Selkie being Scar’s daughter.
Oh my goodness, this girl is a PERFECT friend… though poor Todd might not think so. Goodness, these two are going to get up to SO much trouble! XD
Selkie has lived among the tailless monkey people for so long she likes to climb trees.
Selkie Smith! Selkie Smith!
Found someone buddies to hang out with!
Climbs a tree, then she can
Drop and pose like Iron Man!
Nei Li!
A.K.A. Selkie Smith!
