The thing I love the most about this?
Selkie’s approval of this haircut means she’s gotten over her self-consciousness about her lack of human-appearing ears.
It’s a cute haircut, I’m just surprised no hair dye was involved. 🙂
I wonder if Sarnothi hair takes to dye differently from human hair. Since they’re aquatic/amphibious the porosity would likely be different. Have we seen any sarnothi with colored hair?
Last Christmas – not December 2023, but Christmas 6 months ago in strip time – both girls showed up at Grandma and Grandpa’s house with temporary hair dye. So did Todd, for that matter. His hair was blue. But both girls had their hair dyed in a spectrum. Selkie’s hair colors circled her head, while Amanda’s ran down the length of her head.
I had forgotten about that! Thanks for the reminder. 🙂

This is a cool undercut on both sides of her head. That makes it twice as cool.
I also hate it… But I’m sure it will grow on me!! <3
My main regret, and one I may retcon when comics resume, is that I’d been drawing the exposed part of her scalp as just stubble so I kept that into the full haircut for cohesion purposed, but I think it’d look better if it was like a slightly darker bit of fuzz instead of bare skin.

Not bad, although I’m hoping for it still being longer in the back; just my personal tastes.

Ehhh, It’s shorter all around than I thought it’d be. Less punk and more … I dunno. Somethin. But definitely not bad! She pulls it off.
