I don’t recognize that quote, but there was a movie called I’M GONNA GET YOU SUCKER! It was a parody of the seventies blaxploitation movies.
In this one scene, the three men are about to go attack the bad guys, and they are arming themselves. Keenen Ivory Wayans is carrying an M60 machine gun. James Brown has a 44 Magnum revolver with what looks like about a 16-in barrel. And Isaac Hayes just keep holstering more and more pistols. Belt holsters, shoulder holsters, ankle holsters. Eventually he’s got at least a dozen pistols. And as he picks up two shotguns, Brown asks him if he has enough.
The longer the girls keep making jokes, after all they’ve been through and after all they’ve witnessed, the less I see them ever being trustworthy. Don’t they realize the government will take them AWAY if they don’t straighten up??
They are 9 (nine) years old. Off color jokes are not going to be taken as evidence of anything except age typical development (which is a good thing).
It’s their actual behavior and capability to keep themselves in check despite emotions or it being really funny if they did the thing that is going to measure their perfomance.
And frankly, I don’t think “take them away” is a likely outcome no matter how much they act out. Not in the sense of permanently cutting off contact with their parents.
These are good points, and I would add to that that I don’t think they SHOULD know that that is a possibility. They’ve already had a ton of separation-related trauma, the threat of more would not be healthy. They aren’t ready to process it properly yet.
And two Echo Elsas would be devastating when they finally couldn’t suppress it any more.
It seems to me that if I was a 9-year-old kid that could shoot laser beams out of my eyes, and the government decided they were going to take me away from my father, I would be shooting laser beams out of my eyes at the people who were attempting to take me away.
That last panel should be animated! Does the green glow appear in that shape all at once, or extrude out from his fingernail, or start flame-shaped and then wiggle around?
They can already do eye lasers. Why does Amanda think they need more blasting?
You always need more blasting. At least that is what Selkie would think and Amanda would agree

“Ain’t no such thing as enough.”
