He may not like it (and he doesn’t know this yet) but he’s going to be better off posing some very carefully worded questions to both Pohl and Scar (perhaps especially Scar), I think.
Might be better if he has Selkie do the asking, after some careful coaching on how to ask. Won’t be as worrisome or suspicious coming from her. And there may be some Sarnothi language involved.
In Selkie’s defense here. I don’t think she intended to blast. It just happened. As for agents talking to her about such things. We would already know about it.
No blasting; scorching doesn’t count. As a kid who grew up using a magnifying glass on sunny days as a toy (only with a water supply nearby; a caveat branded into my pyro brain by assured maternal wrath), this is a distinction I can relate to.
And seeing Todd shifting into full Papa Bear mode is wonderful. The moreso as his gentle, nurturing qualities are well-established.
