So true. So very painfully true. My nose hurts at mere memory of a gym class accident that happened 21 years ago. We also incidentally discovered that one of my classmates pukes at the sight of blood. π
It’s not a big deal, but the dialog in the second panel doesn’t flow right… it’s easy enough to figure out from what’s said (doesn’t make sense the other way), but my eyes didn’t follow it right… but aside from switching where they’re standing, I don’t know any way to correct it… Just figured you should know, if it helps at all.
Also, my gf’s comment on the last panel was “SELKIEDOKEN”, and I cracked up…
It doesn’t have to be anytime soon. This comic will continue up until Selkie is in high school at least. There is plenty of time for the emotional and character development recquired.
Erm, yeah, parenting… The FCC has nothing on the time your three-year-old goes running through the church singing a song with inappropriate lyrics… π―
Now, in my family it is well know that my parents and I both have bones of steel. On numerous occasions, either my mother head-bumping into my father or vice-versa, my mother has always been the one to say “ow”. Sometimes, my father doesn’t even know that someone’s hit him!
I feel so bad for my mom some days, since this is the woman who sprains her ankle at the drop of a twig.
So one party has its happy-ish ending. Time to see how Heather fares. *secretly hopes Amanda gets indirectly punished the most, i.e. Keisha turning on her, Heather blaming her, Amanda in downward spiral, etc.*
*… is vengeful towards bullies*
I just read this story arc from the beginning, and I literally teared up by the end :(. It’s one thing to watch it progress from day to day, but entirely another to read it all in one sitting, especially if it brings back memories of keep-away and bitchy girls T_T. Power to Selkie for making it through, and if Amanda doesn’t get her just desserts for being a complete jerk then I’ll be pissed off beyond belief.
Guess I was lucky I never had to deal with bullies…well not after the first few ones…there is something about have anger issues and being very strong and tall that sorta discourage bullying..>.>
After all of the sh*t that just went down, Selkie surely deserves a heartfelt hug from Todd… and I think we all deserve to see it. She has earned it fair and square. <3
Also, I too noticed how Todd and Mrs. Afkhami didn't really look at each other. I dunno what to make of it, so I'll just sit back and await what happens, if anything. π
And… the last panel reminded me of the times where my mother was called into school, and the first thing I did was go right up to her and hug her. I hated being the emotionally distraught, bullied chubby kid who didn't fit in. I feel for and understand her needing her parent there with her… <3
Well, there are worse ways.
Still sporting the rash too I see
It IS the same day, and what…no more than four hours have passed at the most?
I notice that neither of them got a good look at each others’ face. Wonder if that’s going to be important to the plot in the future…
Hmm, I didn’t pick up on that possibility. Interesting. Perhaps they know each other.
No way. They’re totally gonna date later on.
“If you hurry, you may beat Amanda…”
“Dads…cans I stays insteads?”
In a fight between forehead and nose, forehead wins every time.

Unless you’re Snape. I think Snape’s nose would win.
SKEKSIIIIIS!
TRIAL BY NOSE!
In other news: THE RASH! OHGODS
Pinocchio’s nose would beat them all, though.
PinocchioΒ΄s nose would *skewer* them all.
One person heads in while another heads out. I suspect the collision was a heads-up for both of them. *tries to whistle innocently*
It’s kinda fun watching them try very hard not to swear. π
I know. I’m going to have to say son of a thunder sometime. lol

Good to see selkie smiling again ^__^
I smell a possible romance
A romance? Between who, Selkie and George? They’re eight, neither of them has that sort of emotional development.
Between Todd and Mrs. Afkhami? She’s already in a relationship.

And Selkie is just casually tackling Todd to the ground.
I didn’t know Selkie could fly :P.
Those are some funny ways to avoid swearing.
‘Son of thunder’ indeed π
When you’re looking over your shoulder for the FCC, “interesting” is a survival skill. π
Erm, yeah, parenting… The FCC has nothing on the time your three-year-old goes running through the church singing a song with inappropriate lyrics… π―
What is FCC short for? Abbreviations are not my forte.
Yesterday at work I heard a small child scream at her mother: “GO TO H$@L!” I’m not very good at censoring lol.
I keep thinking..”Son of Thunder, Shazam!” which is totally not how that goes but fun for me.
I was thinking of the movie Airheads since there’s a band called the Sons of Thunder.
Now, in my family it is well know that my parents and I both have bones of steel. On numerous occasions, either my mother head-bumping into my father or vice-versa, my mother has always been the one to say “ow”. Sometimes, my father doesn’t even know that someone’s hit him!

Sorry, I meant to write father, not parents.

*high-fives*

To quote the great film Scrooged:
“Cupid’s arrow…right between the eyes!” π
That hug…I can’t get over the cuteness of it.
I’ve really gotta say, Dave, in that last panel… You can really tell how much your anatomy has improved. π
