“I have told them multiple times not to do the Kermit voice, that MnM character voice, or ANY variation of Shrek and the Grinch.”
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.
“I have told them multiple times not to do the Kermit voice, that MnM character voice, or ANY variation of Shrek and the Grinch.”
Okay.. hear me out, Todd. But, maybe this time.. don’t punish her.
Firstly, it was literally harmless. Secondly, they got pranked in return. Thirdly, Amanda and Selkie are getting along better than they have in.. well, ever. If you punish Selkie, Amanda is gonna other feel guilty or get punished as well. And I legitimately worry that Amanda taking heat for Selkie’s prank would be a setback for their growing familial relationship.
Plus… Birthday girl. Cut her some slack?
I second that. All of that.
Ok. Same but can we mention the elephant in the room? How the fluff does Todd know what COLOR a voice is?
He knows what color Selkie’s eyes are when she uses that voice.
Synaesthesia, maybe?
I doubt she’s in for an actual punishment, but a stern talking-to is still in order, given how flippant she’s been about the whole thing. She doesn’t realize just HOW serious it would be if the truth came out – she’s vaguely aware of it, but she IS still a kid – so he feels like he has to impress that upon her whenever she uses it as a “toy”, so to speak.
Something that “sounds green.” *snerk*
…And I agree. A “stern talking to” is pretty much all that Selkie should get in the situation— possibly one for Amanda too. Mainly to impress upon them the seriousness of these secrets.
I don’t think punishment is appropriate.
Honestly he already is cutting her slack by “we will talk later”
Kids need consistency, she broke a rule and at the least she needs a discussion of it being wrong and why. It may seem like no big deal but this could have easily gone way out of hand or wrong. It would be like if Amanda and Selkie were playing with matches but cut them some slack because nothing caught on fire.
yeah, but he doesn’t know that
I hear with my little ear something that sounds… Green!
It’s not easy being green…
It’s not easy being green…
“Having to spend each day the color of the leaves…”
…and now I can’t get that tune out of my head…
Todd is such a phenomenally good parent here, some sucky parents would outright cancel the party. Got me thinking that the worst parents out there act like bratty immature kids themselves.
