I mean, remember, it’s not working :p
I feel like it’s probably some sort of assistive device. Selkie jokes, but it could be the Sarnothi equivalent of an antidepressant, painkiller, or something to help with a learning or physical disorder. If Pohl fixes/helps them fix this, it might give the girls a little insight as to why Tehk’s always so hostile.
It could also be a little holoprojector like that message from Selkie’s mom. Do we know anything about his family other than he lives with his uncle?
I wonder if it’s something that plays back a recorded scene like Selkie’s inhibitor. I feel like it’s got to be tied to whatever he had to leave behind.
Yeah, I was thinking something akin to a photo album or home video of his parents.
Selkie’s deductive reasoning skills need work.
It’s broken (and has been broken for an indeterminate period of time), and Tekh is in a bad mood, which does the exact opposite of ruling out it being a “Good Mood” device.
Likewise for Amanda—if it were a “Jerk Enhancer”, he’d be nicer with it broken.
