I hate this, because sometimes people ask me if I’m ok and I say, “Yeah, I’m fine.” and I MEAN that and everyone assumes I’m not fine and makes a scene about it. Sometimes saying you’re fine actually means you’re fine. Making a scene or pressing the nonexistent issue can actually lead to the person not being fine anymore.
That’s why I use okay instead of fine. Some people still push that, “Just okay? What’s wrong?” But that’s because I live in an area where a lot of people have bought into toxic positivity memes.
“They ask you how you are and you just have to say that you’re fine, when you’re not really fine, and you can’t get into it because they would never understand”
“Fine” never EVER means what people think it means
Sure it does!
Freaked out, insecure, neurotic and emotional.
