Late late super late holy crap. Anyway, thank you for reading.
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.

They thought it was a good idea because you and Todd systematically rejected the notion of them learning in a structured Environment because it was scary and expected a couple of eight-year-olds to wait for you to sort out your emotions on the subject. Seriously I can’t believe how shortsighted they are about children with lasers. Yeah it’s scary but it’s here and you have to deal with it. Not later, now, today or things will we’ll burn.
Agreed. Todd and Andi are being too precious about a CURRENT SITUATION involving their kids. As a father of two very precocious kids, sometimes you gotta just put your heads down and deal with things.
Yup. 100% agreed.
Yep. Them learning and experimenting their echo abilities is going to happen whether Todd and Andi like it or not, so they may as well try to control *how* they experiment with echo powers.
I’m fairly certain that Very Serious People will have Very Serious Words with Todd and Andi about this whole scenario, with phrases like “violation of non-disclosure” and “potential loss of custody” entering play.
I would not want to remove two little WMDs from their chosen families, though…
In a comment on a previous page, can’t remember which, someone brought up a “potential loss of custody” speculation and Dave jumped in to say he would NEVER do a story like that. IIRC it was because he learned adopted kids found it very upsetting and scary when media depicted adopted kids losing their parents, and he didn’t want his story to be among those that did that.
The girls as allies are formidable. As enemies it was directed at each other. Now they are working together they will be unstoppable.
I was pleased to see not even a hidden attempt to throw Amanda under the bus. ‘Me against my sister: my sister and me against the world.’ You need to teach your kids that kind of solidarity early. 🙂
The Selkie Experience – tickets now on sale for the global tour. Summer 2022.
Selkie seems to be maturing. Sometime ago I asked why she said “I’s” instead of “I’m”. It didn’t seem to go with her randomly sticking an ess on the end of words. Dave said that she did it intentionally – that she liked the way it sounded.
But I see that she is saying “I’ms” in this strip. Growing up. Maybe one day she’ll use a knife and fork. 🙂
At first I thought Selkie took ‘being out of her mind’ as a compliment rather than seconding Amanda’s reply
How else is she going to become a mad scientist?
I suspect it’s both; agreeing with her sister and taking the “out of her mind” comment as a compliment.
All I’m imagining now is Andi turning around to see Theo watching the whole thing, superpowers included.
I just loled
Loudly i might add at work…
Typo? “An whole day,” panel 2.
