-edit- Updated the “thinking” panels. Marginally better, still not great, but kind of reached a “I need to move on” point with trying to work out a better visual representation.
I am excessively unhappy with those "thinking" panels on 4 and 5. May redarw them later tonight.

The second panel is confusing to me. What is being said sounds like a continuance of Jesse’s previous statement. “Yeah I guess. We (me and Amanda) run into each other around the building sometimes.”
But Todd is saying it. It doesn’t really make sense.
Also I don’t think very much of the thought panels.
Maybe the speech bubble tail is pointed the wrong way?
And yeah I have no idea what those panels mean, I don’t know who has those noses. Jessie + Andi and Afkhami + Todd maybe? But the nose doesn’t match Todd so maybe it’s supposed to be a gossip chain, like Todd+Afkhami and Afkhami+Jessie? But in that case the second person in the first thought panel should have a hijab and they don’t so. Not sure.
I agree that the speech bubble tail must simply be pointed the wrong way.
I think those “thought” panels are, first, Jessie + Andi and second, Afkhami + Jessie. He just came up with a plausible reason why Andi would know about what happened between Ms Afkhami and him. Add to that how shifty Andi was about it, and how shifty Jessie is being right now, and… He Knows.
I don’t think they have any real reason to worry about him knowing, though.
I don’t understand the thinking panels (maybe it will be clearer in the redraw). Who are the silhouettes?
(Also, looks like Jessie’s a bad liar, poor girl)
I think it’s
Todd + Andi
Ms. Afkhami + Jessie
Note specifically the vertical alignment too; especially when considering the slip about the kiss earlier…
The panels are Todd putting together that “Afkami kiss” info passed to Andi because she was with Jessie.
First panel is Jessie +Andi, second is Afkami + Jessie. He’s realizing who Andi’s “her” is.
Yeah, panels 4 and 5 kinda don’t work. But the gist I get is that Todd just figured out how Andi found out about Minna and Todd.
Now that makes sense, I was thinking that Todd thought that he found out Andi’s girlfriend but to me that did not make sense.

I think it would be clearer with panel showing Todd (arrow) Afkani (arrow) Jessie (arrow) Andi
or have their heads in a circle, with arrows connecting them with Andi’s arrow looping back to Todd

An appropriate caption for the AHA! panel is “Dawn breaks over Marblehead”.
It looks a lot better Dave. To be fair, I did understand what you were trying to do with the OG panel, but it was a little obscure. I think you did an excellent job with the update to those panels, the red lines with words convey exactly what he’s thinking and the red arrows point down in to his head. It’s a lot more creative than a thought bubble.
Ironically, I understood the original bubbles to mean that Todd figured out how Andi knows about him and Ms. Afkani. But I the redraw doesn’t read that way for me at all.
*shrug* who knew.
The revised artwork is definitely an improvement.
