Back home from my trip, had a great time visiting my brother and his family for a week. Don’t know if I liked the 16 hour drive though. May fly next time. XD
Somewhat bittersweet to come home though; our older dog passed away while we were out of town, and coming home to see his kennel gone from it’s usual place was sad. Had 14 great years with Wolfie, and I know he’s somewhere better now.
Opted not to use the colored emotive background in that last panel because I like how the face expressions speak for themselves.
Don’t glare like that, Amanda.
She’s got your number fair and square.
It takes one scheming conniving villain to know another…
Together, they will do great things.
Great and terrible things.
no surprise, for all that they´re practically arch enemies, they´ve known each other for a long time….and very well by now. so fooling each other isn´t possible anymore.
and i agree with Moe, if those two ever get over their squabbles and team up, the world around them will be in dep sh#!
That isn’t a “you’re wrong” glare.
That’s a “you’re right and I don’t like it” glare.
So sorry to hear about your dog, Dan. I’m very glad you had 14 years with him.
NEVER LOOK INTO A DRAGON’S EYES!
OMG! This! You are giving her very good advice, it weakens your position, and gives away your intent. Good advice for everyday life.
In My neck of thewoods, we have too many Georges, and not enough/too few dragons… They don’t seem to get along well.
For an interesting take on that, look at “The Dragon and the George” (there’s
an article on it in Wikipedia).
Somewhere I own a paperback edition of the book. Not sure if Dragon Heart (the Movie) was a rip-off of it, but if not- still a very similar plot twist.
Losing pets sucks. Family cat was out down for cancer a week before I came to visit for Christmas. I know your pain not being there in their final moments.
Lost my Jack Russell in ’85. Fondly remembered, much missed.
I’m so sorry about your pupper, Dave. <3
I agree with your artistic decision here. Those faces are *perfection*! XD
Sorry about your pup ..14 years is both a long time and i am sure what feels like too short a time.
My condolences on your loss. Losing a family member, even a furry one, is rough.
Sorry to hear about your canine friend. My own animal companion of over 15 years had to be put down last year a few months ago and I was suck a wreck I missed three days of work.
It sounds cold, but I’m glad I at least didn’t have to go in to work afterward. You can prepare for it but it best you can but it still hits you hard.
It is, sometimes, a blessing not to have to go to work for a day or two after that. No company is going to give you time off for a four footed family member. But for some people, a pet is the only family they have (that they can trust). I once had a co-worker ask me “Well, it was just a dog, why the tears?” I just stared at him in disbelief, and when that went on too long, he went away. What can you say to something like that?
The gap in understanding appears too vast to bridge with mere words.
You might be surprised. The day after I had to put my kitty of 13 years to sleep, I had to go into work. Tech support, call center. I was a wreck. My supervisor noticed, found out what had happened, and arranged for me to go home and make up the time later in the week.
I had to use sick or vacation time to cover my shifts, thank god I had it. Took them in to the vet and had to be put down the same day.
I ended up using the back entrance to leave because I was crying so hard. Thankfully I had a family member come with me because I wouldn’t have been able to drive.
Went home to bury my friend only to find my roommate had locked the shed with the shovels and I couldn’t find a key, so I just grabbed a sledge hammer from the basement and smashed the lock off.
Ended up digging the spot while I cried the entire time. And I live in a neighborhood that the houses are really close. Like less than 10 feet apart, I’m sure someone saw me, which made it even more embarrassing.
I ended up drinking super heavy that night and woke up in a pile of empty Micky bottles.
I still get worked up if I think about it too long. Sure I have friends and family, but animal companions are just the kind of creature to love you, no matter what kind of asshole you are.
That sounds like a damn ordeal. My condolences.
There is a corner of my parent’s back yard that’s become a sort of pet cemetery. Two cats three dogs, now Wolfie.
I love the expressions in the final panel.
Love the last panel!! And great valentine’s day pic, Dave!
WONDERFUL SISTERS
