"drippy cloaca" rolls off the tongue so nicely though.

Drippy WHAT?
Engorged WHAT???
What kind of nature shows is she watching??? 0_o::
Honestly, any regular nature show I would say…it suffices to talk about birds and parasitic insects
I learned “cloaca” from “Cloaca-Cola” on Kingdom of Loathing.
And later looked it up. But first got used to it in the Cola Wars (vs. Dyspepsi-Cola).

Many years later, I played a birdman kinda race in Pathfinder, and we went round and round on whether my character had a cloaca (and thus could go without pants) or not ^_^
(I believe we eventually decided on a tunic.)
Nature shows have gotten really uhm, Down to Nature lately. I hadn’t watched any for a bit and then got back into it and I dunno if they just stopped trying to Disney it up or they are really proud of the high-def cameras they have now but dude! I watched a show recently about elephants and they were talking about how they use termite mounds to scrape parasites off and there was a high-def scene of a close up of an elephant butt covered in ticks.
Eyew! I think it’s the high definition. They were not too Disney-like when I was a kid. You could get a pretty graphic sex education watching some mating scene, and I have to scan even the older ones for gory hunting scenes when my kid was younger.
Cloaca is a birds exit only organ not just for urea but for excrement and eggs. Twould be like calling a mammal specifically human a “smegma encrusted vag.” or an incontinent urethra. An Ovipositor is what an insect uses to inseminate. For fish it would be a gonapodium for humans it would be a penis… Basically genitalia humor… Didn’t they teach this stuff in science class.
Ovipositors are specifically egg-laying organs, and thus male insects don’t have them. It’s what bee stingers are, actually.
Selkie, no.
Does she watch stuff while Todd’s asleep? I feel like she does. DX
Can’t tell if Selkie’s helping or not.
Selkie, that kind of thing gets you grounded from TV.
Not good teaching style.
Praise publicly, but criticize privately.
I feel like this was required for Te Fahn’s sake than to affect Giselle’s behaviour. If Te Fahn hadn’t seen immediate response against that sort of behaviour, she might have internalized it as acceptable, and be less likely to stand up for herself later on.
i bed to differ, the other pupils need to see that this kind of behaviour won´t fly – and te fahn needs to see that she´ll get protected against harrassment
Naw, it was appropriate given there were other kids involved. Giselle was kind of being made into an example there. Usually that’s not a good thing, but in this case it had to be nipped in the bud for Te Fahn’s sake. If Mina is like some wonderful teachers I know, she’ll take time to talk with both girls privately to follow up.
Teacher myself here: what Mina did was the right course of action. It wasn’t critisizing her, it is Mina reminding the kids that bullying is not tolerated and will have consquences. She handled it immediately and made sure the entire class knew that this kind of behaviour won’t fly.
Selkie, no! XD
Also, I am glad to see Mina’s laying down the law here!
This is horrible and hilarious.
Selkie has taken Te Fahn under her wing <3 <3 <3
so good <3 <3 <3
Like it’s clear she means well but Selkie here is also just kind of disregarding Te Fahn’s own wishes and feelings on this matter.
It might be more about Selkie knowing how to deal with Giselle specifically, now that she’s done so once already.
Those words sound a bit too PG-13 for you, young lady!
Yes, Selkie is doing this the wrong way, but she is trying to help her in the best way she knows how. Those two are gonna be good friends.
Know better than what?
*falls over laughing* Oh man, I’m going to have to turn to Selkie for some new suggestions to refer to people that really piss me off. ‘Engorged Ovipositor’? I LOVE it!
Marie. that’s just like calling them a Hard Dick… now had you called them an Impotent ovipositor.. that’s just funny…
Ovipositer is the egg-laying part, not the semen-spewing part. So it’s more like Swollen Cunt.
Todd, what the F are you letting Selkie watch?
Oh, you know, just the birds and the bees… 😛
I knew Mina would get involved. <3 Also Giselle reminds me of the Marvin books when I was a kid. A former bully legitimately has trouble not calling kids in his class by mean nicknames (they just slip out) and feels bad about it because he’s trying to be better.
Why is “Freckle-Face” derogatory? Is that a Sarnothi thing?
Why is Clicks? It’s all just down to context/intent.
But freckles are so cute… (Facepalms!)
Shrewdly said, Mikael- and true, it now occurs to me, of many a racial slur.
I have heard “freckle-face” plenty in school when I was a girl. Pretty much anything that makes a child into an individual is up for grabs in the teasing department.
Good for Selkie trying to teach Te Fahn to stand up for herself, and good for Te Fahn trying to show Selkie there are many ways to do it beyond “eye for an eye.” Love how different their personalities are, yet how they are already becoming friends.
Dave’s transcript text: “drippy cloaca” rolls off the tongue so nicely though.”
>_<
THAT WAS A MENTAL PICTURE I DID NOT NEED, DAVE!
