Got another Pet Picture for you all today, but this one isn’t fan related. It’s mine. We got a new puppy the other day. Meet Maggie.
I don’t know if putting her on the bed for hang out time is a good idea. I’ll find out the fun way when she weighs 80 pounds instead of 15.
Maggie is a good name for a lab, especially if they end up liking shiny objects or picking things up and carrying them around. Then you can nickname them Magpie. She is also quite cute.
you have purchased a 4 legged trash picker. Shes a good dog but do yourself a favor.. get a GOOD SOLID trashcan and bolt it to the floor and a lid that locks down.
If the parents were both in the 80# range, then yeah, o.k. But if you don’t know both parents, they can grow to 120#s without enough exercise.
No grapes (or raisins), no beer, no onions, no dark chocolate, no diet beverages, no sugarless gum, and the reason is; that humans have livers to help digest stuff that are Totally Awesome! Dogs do not have livers of awesomeness, they have livers of puny fail. The tiny bit of caffeine in soda, dark chocolate, and other things can make a puppy deathly ill, and seriously damage a small dog. Yeah, yer large breeds can tolerate some stuff pretty well, but not xylitol. The up side is; OMG you have a dog, there is no better companion, no better judge of character. They are better than humans are in all the wrong ways, not nearly as good as humans in all the right ways. A person with their mate and a dog, is the happiest person:
Taking a long dog-walk will leave you peaceful and tired, what more could you want? There’s nothing left to be desired. And a sleeping puppy is adorbs. (Because an awake puppy is a chewing machine)
Hey Genesee, my October content on AO3 is turning into a Big Event, with over a dozen participants across the world (each doing their own little piece of a Person of Interest fic set in an SCP Foundation fusion worldbuild). Since you asked about my stuff before (when I mentioned podfics), I thought I might mention it.
My main piece is deliberately creepy and unsettling, by the by, but I’ve had some great feedback already, and I haven’t even gotten to one of the major meta elements ^_^ but be advised that waiting until later and bingeing all the chapters will not have the same effect as reading them as they come out (the second chapter should be out on the 9th).
https://selkiecomic.com/comic/selkie1117/ — when you asked for a link to my work, and I replied (a bit late) with lots of info about what I’ve been working on
Link to my AO3 account is in this comment’s Website URL space.
I am a cat person and not a dog person. I don’t hate dogs, but I really don’t like dogs. But I keep having girlfriends and wives that love dogs. Go figure.
IMHExperience, ALL labs, at any age, are chewing machines, as well as just about any other retriever. If I could afford a HUGE, fenced-in yard, I wouldn’t mind a sight hound of any size. I currently have about six cats, depending on their current staff needs. (Dogs have masters, cats have staff.)
I agree.
Wow. The way this is set up, it looks like I’m agreeing/replying to a comment I haven’t read yet.
So; I’m agreeing with the dog name logic. Yep. Way up there.
…Even your book bag is laughing at you, Selkie. But at least you recognized the hole you dug for yourself in time.
Looks more like an amused smirk to me.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that saw that.
also TOP QUALITY DOG
Yup, spotted that too.
Um, hopefully Pohl has addressed using “blaster eyes” at school…
And Dave, that’s a beautiful doggy. I have a friend with an adorable Golden Retriever named Maggie, so she’s in good company.
I don’t think he has. And she maybe thinking now that sarnothi are public knowledge, she doesn’t need to hide being an echo. Problem is if one of the other sarnothi children is also an echo, she’ll probably learn how muted her powers are. Meaning the good doctor may have to answer some awkward questions about what selkie’s bow was actually doing to her.
Or the children may even be able to put her skin colour, and her being an echo together as clues, which would identify her as being the daughter of a “war criminal” who has been a large player in the war that led to the sarnothi children, and their families being exiled from their homes. If they learn selkie is an echo some of the sarnothi children may blame her as a scapegoat for her mother.
Yeahhh….knowing Selkie, she’s not going to be able to resist the temptation to show off her ‘glowy eyes’ for long…
resisting the temptation, selkie? no way, if anything she is totally planning to do it, heck, she´s already humming!
also, cute doggie, and awesome books! unlike other commenters i wouldn´t simply dognap maggie, i´d join her for a cuddle and raid the book shelf – starting with the mangas 😉
Good plan!
May I join you, I have coffee, chocolate, and tea biscuits!?
the more the merrier, i bring the cake!
…i hope dave´s bed is big enough for all of us 😉
Interesting how Todd’s car has a yoke instead of a steering wheel.
nah, he’s just got a new controller for his car rather than the old style of steering wheel…
FYI, I may or may not be planning a break in to steal Maggie. Just saying. 🐶
D’AWWWWWWWWWWWITSAPUPPY!!!!!!! She seems like a Good Girl. Give her lots of lovin’ from me!!!
Dog knapping is a particularly insidious crime, an’ ’round parts is a High Crime two steps under stealing a man’s wife or kids. There is very strict punishment for it, if only because so many are tempted, please resist the urge to knap the Maggie.
Dave, I saw WOT on the shelf there, Pullman’s: The (Dark) Materials books, and the obligatory Harry Potter books, but what is the series to the left of the J.K. Rowling, then left of the pink and white spined book that’s not pushed in?The series that goes brown, gray, black, green, maroon, blue, blue, purple?
And I don’t see a copy of the FarSide Gallery anywhere, you Do have one, yes?
I can only make out One Piece, but everything in that section is manga.
You’re right, I can see that now! This is Way more fun than “Where’s Waldo”!!
Jurassic Park, The Hobbit, Angels and Demons, and a yellow spined book that looks like ?animal crossing? Dunno able it that one. This is fun, I hope it is not too invasive. I mean we weren’t invited to come into the room, only allowed to peer in a window to see the dog, and yet you can feel so much closer to someone who has books that you know, if not like!!! And it’s fun.
Naaw, it’s fine. The “sensitive” books are hidden behind the mattress anyway.
RyanW is correct, that’s my little manga nook. The series you’re looking at is Fushigi Yugi. I never completed that series though, need to pick it back up sometime.
And I DO have several Far Side books actually! Never got my hands on that all-in-one compendium, though.
I also see Robert Jordan wheel of time in hard cover…
Sigh! I am no longer persona grata on this site. In times past I have been white listed for comments by webcomic-ers, and I thought that I was here, too. But that seems to have changed about the time that the E.U. got picky about GDPR cookies and collecting data on users.
You should be, you didn’t show up as needing moderation or approval on my end. I’ve been seeing a delay in comments appearing on the site after I post mine, perhaps that’s what you’re experiencing?
Yeah, that’s what it looks like, that you must approve them. So if yer not it is just the delay. Thanks for checking, Dave. Nice book collection!
Okay, so that’s twenty, but Jesus said “seventy times seven” so now it’s 490.”
I’m not saying I’m gonna kidnap the pup… I am specifically *not* saying that… but if she did happen to go missing, I would not rule out the possibility that one of us has her.
Hey, people joking about home invasion and dognapping, I know it’s meant as a compliment, and I know you’re not even remotely serious.
Comments can land differently than they’re intended. Even invoking the thought of losing a loved one can be unpleasant for those who have loved ones to lose.
Maybe Dave is totally feeling secure and unbothered by the comments. Or maybe he doesn’t want to deal with the blowback of asking people not to express themselves in whatever way seems good to them, regardless of how it might be received.
I spy His Dark Materials ^_^ (along with other things already mentioned, but I didn’t see mention of that series.) Love the collection, and that is an adorable puppy!
Lossa people let their large dogs on their bed. It’s only a problem if you don’t have enough room on it already. But my parents had a queen, and both of them fit with two large dogs, four small dogs, and a cat. Granted, they were usually lying under the small dogs, and one of the large dogs was relegated to their feet.
I wish you many happy adventures with your new puppy, and not too much frustration with the training.
I have a sinking feeling that this is about Tehk…
But more importantly PUPPY PUPPY PUPPY FUZZY WUZZY PUPPYYYYY
*gasp* Are those Wheel of Time books I see?
Adorable puppy!!!
Mischievous or obnoxious sure – but honestly can’t think of any instances where Selkie has been outright bad.
I can almost see her Da having to pull o’er from laughing so hard. 😛
