Fun little extra to share today. My girlfriend and I participated in a street-painting event this weekend where we got a 6×6 square of street pavement to paint as we pleased. We decided to do a view into Sarnoth. So[…]↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Selkie's stubbornness makes me chuckle.
Delicious wonderful kale smoothies.

Selkie, it's "Jin'Sorai", not "Genie'Sorai".

The four Clans each have traditional roles in Sarnoth society, but individuals are free to work outside of those roles if they choose. Plo Quar's job as a Peacekeeper was/is atypical of Jin'Sorai, who are traditionally artisans and builders.
Just a heads up, the next Selkie strip will be on Wednesday, June 29. I am out of town and won’t be able to make Monday’s update.
In earlier drafts, Plo Quar had been a close friend of the De'Madieas, in other drafts she had escorted them out of Sarnoth and defended them from enemy soldiers. I chose not to go with the route of a personal relationship, but they're still aware of her existence.
I had written a bit where Todd walks in to the room catching Sai Fen still in the water bubble, but on thinking about it I decided it didn't make much sense that Sai Fen wouldn't quickly floop that water bubble back into the tank before calling the human in to chat about war crimes.
Selkie still has hand warmers tucked under her shirt, but I felt showing an active temp control component (the warm water) would also be a good idea.
The last time Selkie got too far away from her hairbow -EDIT- Fixed some continuity errors regarding lack of snowfall in panel 2 and a lack of waterbending bracers.
I frequently run outside under dressed in the winter. Bad idea. Baaaaad.
