HIM.
-Edit 8-28- Sorry folks, next comic update is Wednesday. Weeks not off to a great start. š
I really like that Todd is angry on Selkie’s behalf for this one. He’s so supportive of her in all the right ways.
Looks like Agent Brown’s got some ‘splainin to do.
In Avery’s defense, given that Plo Quar is a priority target he’s probably not able to disclose that classified information.
Todd: Is Plo Quar in your custody?
Agent Brown: You don’t have clearance or need to know.
That could be, too. š
Now that I think about the phone call Todd had with Avery, where Avery asked Todd what information Scar had told him about Plo Quar, it might not have been because they were trying to find her but because Avery was trying to assess damage control on classified information.
Get me clearance, ’cause I need to know!
We know Plo Quar is a powerful echo, a war hero / war criminal (depending on who you ask) and a potential threat to the current Sarnothi government it makes a lot of sense that Avery would want to keep information on her as secret as possible.
Why she left Selkie and what sheās been doing since is the real mystery to me, Iām really looking forward to finding out.
Hopefully she and selkie can reconnect on some level without any risk to Todd answer Selkieās relationship.
Not much mystery. She was hiding when Scar betrayed her, she was in hiding when the man in the store met her, and she’s in hiding to this day.
Selkie is clearly safer without her in her life.
Given how Plo Quar legged it after leaving her kid with a bunch of humans, Avery might be doing Selkie and Smith a favor by not mentioning her. After all, mentioning that her mother has not tried to get her back would be a drop kick to the poor kid’s heart.
Then again, a scenario where Plo decides she wants Selkie back and the resulting custody battle would be angsty as well.
Call it a crack ship if you want, but Iām a huge fan of Plodd. āOh. Yah. Both my kids are echos. Isnāt your other daughter human? Yah. Wut? 0.0ā First time posting here, love this comic btw. Wholesome/lulzy in equal measure.
With as little as we know about Plo Quar, she’s going to wind up being important somehow, and the reason for her missing is going to be related to this.
and angry todd has appeared and may break out into handcuffs. (Punching a government agent in the balls is probably NOT a good idea todd They frown on it heavily)
Oooo… Anyone else seeing the possible arrival of Selkie’s markings in this page? The dots on her face seem consistent on each panel.
She’s awfully young for them, though. That’s a “shows up at puberty” thing with Sarnothi, isn’t it?
Looking at this whole page, there are random pixels in every panel that are a slightly different color than the surrounding area. It’s not just Selkie’s face. It’s the backgrounds, Todd’s hair, both of their shirts…
Stray dust specks on the scanner. It was drawn on paper not on PC and I didnāt clean it up as well as I should have.
That’s wild, Dave. The way the dust specs look on Selkie’s face came out so consistently! Especially the ones next to her mouth and eyes on her right (our left) side.
Selkie is 9 right? That’s actually not an unusual age for human girls to start showing subtle signs of puberty (I have a daughter). Usually by around 10-12, it’s in progress for most girlsāespecially these days. Boys tend to be much later. But there’s a lot of variation in age depending on a number of factors.
