AVERY: If she's to rest, then I propose we move on from the testing.
ANDI: What else was there for today?
AVERY: Security briefings, paperwork.
ANDI: Lizard cult offerings?
AVERY: It's your amendment.
AVERY: Then, debrief K'Limdai on the measurements, I'll handle the rest of this.
THEN: Well well! Seems YOU get to be stuck with ME!
SCAR: Will be more fun-having for you than for me, yes?
THEN: Make sure you use the GOOD stationary! Daddy likes a stiff, crisp Form 86-B!
SCAR (VO): Spirits save me from you.

Just something nice about that sharp crease on a folkded piece of good quality paper
And a bureaucrat too! He just gets more loveable, doesn’t he?
If you want to know what the future is like, Winston, imagine a hand moving down a form, ticking box after box, for ever…
That’s actually a throw away gag in Larry Niven’s book “Inferno.” The Ancient Greek who INVENTED record-keeping is free to leave Hell, just as soon as he fills out the correct form… in cuneiform, which is impressing characters into wet clay. You can imagine how fast the clay dries out in Hell, and how long he’s been trying to fill out that form!
And new on the Christmas reading list…
Thanks, Ed Rhodes!
The scribe wasn’t Greek, but Mesopotamian, a millenia more ancient than the Greeks, and the inventor of bureaucracy, a terrible crime for which a terrible self-administered punishment was decreed. He was Hammurabi’s scribe, hence the wet clay and cuneiform. His punishment was that he could retire from Hell’s bureaucracy just by filling out the form on a single very large sheet of clay. He had been trying for a very long time. Where he mined the clay was now called “Hammurabi’s Bay”, and where he dumped his unsuccessful attempts back into the lake formed a peninsula.
Oh the things I can do to/with that man XD
What if K’Limdai is wearing boxers?
Huh, I wasn’t even in a good mood, but this one still made me smile at the end. Nothing like a reformed big bad being terrorized by paperwork.
*Cough stationery cough*
Sorry but “if shes to rest” comes off as really clunky here.
sheesh, Then is a twirp
That high rag content paper *thumbs up emoji*
In general, just a little unclear on who is doing, or going to be doing here. Are Scar and Then going away to do paperwork? Or just Scar?
my understanding is that Agent Brown, Andi, and Todd are going to get Andi read in on Echo Stuff and the NDAs therein, plus getting Todd and Andi read in and NDA’d on some other stuff, IIRC. Selkie and Amanda are along for the ride unless they drop them in front of a Friendtendo PSBOX with a co-op game along the way, then seal the exits while the Adults are talking.
Then and Scar are off to discuss the readings. Then may be taking notes on that, which may count as paperwork, depending on your point of view.
Form 86-B? BINGO! I got bingo! iOS-15, Nintendo-64, GameStop 155 up 11 points, OMG-800,000+, and form B-86! Bingo!
Dave, I love this comic.
I’m sorry. The “O” was “Over 9,000!” No bingo.
Awwwww, you’re right. It was over 9,000!
