Cliffhanger… 😀
Principal Ashton has no hand in panel 3. When drawing this one I put a text bubble at the bottom that obscured half his hand, so I decided to just not draw it since a text bubble was going there anyway. XD
Cliffhanger… 😀
Uh oh
I’m calling it. It’s Mrs. Haversham-Zhang going all mama bear.
I dunno… she seems more like the “cold and controlled rage” kind of person. And by “cold” I mean “icicles hanging from the speech bubbles”.
Besides, why would she be involved? This was a conflict between two adopted students.
I’m going on a limb with ex-girlfriend out to prove that he was wrong about her.
That’s my thought, too…. this won’t end well.
Nah, I bet it’s Heather’s new mom. Still won’t end well.
“Uh oh, Heather’s parents have arrived. Now the de-adopting will commence.”
-Me
You know, this just occurred to me…
Up till now I’ve been confidant that Heather’s new parents will understand that raising a kid isn’t all butterflies and rainbows and do the right thing by her. But, the name ‘fairweather’…… that’s the term my mom used to describe friends who are only your friends when everything’s smooth sailing. ‘Fair weather friends’ who are only around while the going is good, but as soon as things get a bit too difficult they bail. I’m starting to fear for Heather’s future.
I hope I’m wrong….
I got the impression that her parents are the type that have no concept of what it means to raise a child. The mother especially seemed to see a daughter as a fashion accessory. I’m reminded of people who buy kittens, thinking of nothing but the playing and cuddling, and then dump the cat on the streets when they’re tired of the litterboxes and scratched furniture.
The Fairweathers, especially as to what their name says about them, and whether or not they were going to be good parents, were discussed when they first showed up at the orphanage. They’re Ken & Barbie, basically. 😛
I’m with Jenny on this one.
O.O
(That’s all I can muster up to say.)
O.O
I’m laying odds it is Mrs Fairweather, come to lay some emotional abuse on Heather.
Mr. and/or Mrs. Fairweather, come directly to the school to apologize to the staff and lecture Heather?
That’s what I was thinking!
“Dones huggings. Air, please.” is probably the cutest thing Selkie has said so far.
I was totally just about to say that!
Cuter than “I don´t yells much, I haven´t been to jails yet… and I´s a pretty one, I is!”? I´m not so sure. But it´s right up there in the Top Ten.
Nothing will ever top ‘I’s a pretty one, I is!’
Agreed. And that’s saying a lot because Selkie has said so many cute things so far.
It also made me both grin and chuckle, as it’s not only cute, but represents how much Todd wants her to be safe – the Possessive Parent Death Hug is a force to reckon with. 😉
Is it just me or is the mark on his cheek getting bigger?
Well, he did appear to itch it when it first appeared…
Scratch it?
Yeah.
Heather must be in the deep part of the ocean now…
…
What happened in the last panel?
Can’t wait for Thursday!
Dun dun dun! 😮
I wonder who this new door-slammy visitor is…
Gosh, I can’t wait for Thursday!
Ah Cliffhanger, my sworn enemy… we meet again at last!
Enter Heather’s mom, wielding a giant fireball.
I would consider Heather lucky if Mrs. Fairweather was only wielding a fireball.
^ This. My parents would have been wielding a metal-studded cat o nine tails.
The way the A is drawn in the “slam”, I’m guessing it’s a door slamming, but is it a door slamming open or a door slamming closed. If it’s Mrs. Fairweather, then she seriously needs to tone down the drama. But it could just as well be Amanda and/or Keisha leaving… you never know.
Good teacher, good dad. Now let’s see if Heather’s mom will react calmly and sensibly.
I have to think when she reaches Heather she’ll be relatively calm. I mean, after taking out her emotional energy on the phone, the door, and probably every unlucky fool who dared drive down the same streets as her.
Well now, it looks like we have a lot of possibilities for who this person could be.
I can’t wait for Thursday to find out! >.<
Ok, finally time to mention this…
Am I the ONLY one to notice that Todd’s boss is Heather’s parent?
Todd works for the architecture firm of “Fairweather and Mayflower”. The Fairweathers are the couple that adopted Heather, and they have also met Amanda. (check the archives, Amanda has a talk with a blonde lady right around the time Todd gets started with the paperwork– that would be Mrs. Fairweather, assuming they take about the same time to get approved that Todd did.)
This is more of a cliffhanger than you think… It might be a complicated next few strips.
No, I think people noticed that right around the time Heather got adopted. As far as I recall, Heather´s new GRANDfather is Todd´s boss. But things might still get complicated, depending on how protective the boss is of his new granddaughter.
Gosh darn cliffhangers >.<
Gosh darn cliffhangers >.<
BTW I think your spam protection is partially broken. Tells me to enable javascript when it's already enabled.
Not sure about the JavaScript needs of the filters honestly. I will see what I can do.
Sorry about the double post. It told me the first one didn’t work.
Have you tried percussive maintenance?
Dave> about the transcript, it also helps not to draw one of the hardest things to draw LOL. I hate doing hands and feet. Still working on getting good at those myself.
About the “cliffhanger”, obviously Heather’s parents have arrived…
Heh. Yeah, I never said it was a GOOD cliffhanger. XD
AAAAAHHHHHHH CLIFFHANGERRRRohwait. *re-reads above comment a few times*
Great. Now I feel dumb. X|
For some unknown reason I have the Sephiroth theme music playing in mind for when the parents show up.
DUN DUN DUNH! 😀
You know, I wonder, assuming it IS Heather’s mom, will she be all “RAAAWWWWRRRR WHERE IS MY HORRIBLE OFFSPRING THAT NEEDS PUNISHMENT?” or will she be more “RAAAAAAWWWWWRRRR ALL OTHER KIDS ARE BAD THAT CHILD IS A FREAK MY KID HAD REASON TOO, SHE DID NOTHING WRONG!” Because with the rich and entitled, it could go both ways after the private fireball…
