I’ll have to update colors later this evening. Nothing as dramatic as last week, just my snooze alarm being an absolute succubus.
Today's edition of the Secret Commentary is empty, because Dave failed to come up with something for it.
Lol that can be read in some very different ways.
It can be read only one way.
The internet hath spoken!
Stop up your ears, Resist the siren’s seductive song that lures sailors toward treacherous shoals. When the alarm beats the call to arms, stand on your own two feet, and fight against the Bed-Monster that beckons the unwary into the depths of deep sleep and Morpheus’ waiting embrace.
Get up, yer late fer work! No time to say :”Hello” goodbye! Yer late, Yer late, Yer late!
And the Sarnothi trade in yaoi fanfic begins.
I sense early-onset puberty. Georgie doesn’t know what’s gonna hit him.
I think I’ve read the spiritual equivalent of that book.
Good choice. 😉
Oh jesus. He found the Harlequins. Brings back memories of reading my Mom’s romance novels.
Better than reading Flowers in the Attic.
Mommy, what happens next! Do they live? D:
Mommy: this is not what I was expecting….
For me, it was reading my grandma’s romance novels. Only difference being I was 11 or 12 at the time. Couldn’t sleep one night, so I looked for something to read, because I was bored and couldn’t play games or watch tv without waking someone up. It was an interesting experience. I actually got really into the plot once I got past… certain scenes.
I think I got a fair bit of my early sex education out of the sex scenes of my Dad’s adventure novel collection. He… MIGHT have forgotten there were two or three scenes like that in a 3cm thick paperback that was really more about ninjas.
Do you remember the name of it?
sounds like it was an eric van lustbader novel.. The Ninja Or One of the Jake Marroc books like Shian or Jian.
Your first guess is right on the money! 😀
I read EVL (Wow, isn’t THAT and evil-looking set of initials! O.O )
cough… I read Lustbader’s entire “Ninja” series, probably a few others. Other novels of the same era and approximate genre, many of which I don’t recall the exact titles or authors (this WAS three decades ago!).
Oh god, I remember the first time I came across a sex scene in a book. It was an Australian young adult book. It was a fairly positive written
scene if I remember right, they talked about it and used protection and it wasn’t graphic at all. I was weirdly fascinated because I had never come across Anything like that before.
Is that the one in the Tomorrow When The War Began series? It definitely sounds like that one
*giggles* Now I want to get my hands on the, well, ‘bodice ripper’ isn’t the correct term…maybe ‘shirt ripper’ or ‘trouser ripper’? Te Fahn is reading…
Maybe “Blouse ripper”? Because pirates?
Blouse ripper works!
Oh /goodness/.
I’m suddenly fondly reminded of getting my hands on my mother’s romance novels at that same age and reading them in fascinated curiosity.
Step 1: School yard crushes.
Step 2: Ye Olde Tales of the Knob Gobbling Pirates.
Step 3. Profit.
They’re not old enough for slash yet, are they?
Mine was, I think, Ramses, or something like that. Big slab of an adventure-romance novel in ancient egypt that I read one summer with my best friend, sat side by side. We giggled a lot.
Te Fahn is becoming my favorite character. :3
And cool that Tehk is being genuinely helpful.
OMG. XD
Thus a fujoshi was born.
O_O
Oh my
Who put the Harlequins in the school library?
who said anything about getting them from school? the way i read that was that he got them at home, and read those same books out loud to himself… and when in their after-school study group at Selkie’s house happened, he just brought the same ones he read… so… implying that they are probably his MOM’S books… and ones that Avery probably either doesn’t know about at all, or more likely know’s that she has them, but doesn’t know EXACTLY what’s in them… as most normal males wouldn’t when talking about “romance novels” of the female persuasion.
