I have a feeling the “disagreeing with his clan” is why he is exiled; possibly that disagreement put him in harm’s way?
That would also explain why many of the residents of Havei Jin’Suir are Jin’Sorai– this is where they retreated to when the Sar’Teri started carving them up big-time. Why Plo Quar would have attacked him is unknown as yet, though.

I think he’s saying he left Sarnoth because he didn’t agree with the sar’teri (presumably about attacking the jin’sorai), but his encounter with Selkie’s mom predates that. My guess would be something in regards to that slave uprising that got mentioned.

I’m not worried about a grudge being held, and I would be a LITTLE worried Selkie will be like “oh noes my mom dids thats?!” BUT I kinda feel like that would be my reaction, not Selkie’s. Though that would be my reaction, I think Selkie is younger and perhaps less easily given a shock than I am.
My only question is, why wasn’t this raised before? Benny new Scar, someone could have told Selkie that her mom basically gave him that nick-name. But maybe I’m looking drama in this face and sticking my tongue out for wondering that.
I feel like Selkie’s reaction would be “Wow, cools! Buuut… You’res not goings to calls blood feuds on me, ares you?”

Yeahhhhhh not a fan of Gien. That’s a jerk move and kind of an inappropriate topic to bring up. He clearly did it to get a rise out of Scar, who I think circumvented that really well by being honest.
That’s what I was alluding to. Scar actually handled it very well; you can see he’s pissed at Gien in the fourth panel.
