It’s not Christmas until the kids earn a new life regret.
At one point the food of choice was sour candies, but I decided fresh-brew lemonade was better because I'm very thirsty.

and once again, Theo is awesome
When I was still donating blood plasma, I sometimes had to suck a raw lemon beforehand in order to get my cholesterol count down to the acceptable limit. It wasn’t fun, but I got used to the taste after doing it a few times. (I eventually modified my diet to drink more citrus the night before donating.)
Good job here on Theo’s part – and I appreciate him including Andi in the important conversation.
Again, I probably personalize stuff too much because I have a very strong-willed niece – she is not a bully AT ALL but she still sometimes doesn’t play into how “normative” toddlers are “supposed” to act. (I’ve got some INCREDIBLY cute stories about her!).
But I think this bodes well for both Amanda and Selkie.
Extra sour lemonade is how I always played it as a kid. My mom would buy two of those plastic lemons because I’d always either make myself lemonade with barely any sugar or drink directly. Sour is goood.
I love sour, when I was a teen I liked eating lemons cut into smiles like oranges. My mom made me stop when the dentist told her what it was doing to my teeth. My current dentist says my front teeth have some ‘fascinating wear patterns’, lol
Acid washed teefers I’d say.
Thank you Theo. Andi needs your guidance more than ever because Todd is doing everything in his power to not be anywhere near Andi, and by extension, not showing her by example how to be a decent parent.
Todd is completely justified in doing this, however Andi needs good role models just like Amanda does. Thank you for taking her under your wing Theo.
Well analyzed
I love this comment, SoulHero7.
If there was a way to upvote here I would. Thank you!
Thank goodness for grandparents! These girls need them!
I’m glad Theo included Andi in this conversation:)
I am too.
well of course, she´s amanda´s main caretaker – even though todd certainly is a very involved father, the main raising has to come from her.
sadly, we´ve seen little of her putting down ground rules yet…..and todd isn´t always around to enforce the rules he put down.
So is it actually Lemonade or just straight up lemon juice? XD
Todd. You’re not actually getting the problem. She’s a bully. No matter how nice Selkie acts Amanda is going to be a brat. You need to get Amanda to understand that bullying is wrong.
As a child I apparently loved lemons. My mom would give me them, I’d eat them, make a terrible face (they’d all giggle at), then I’d demand more.
I love lemons/citrus/sour things to this day (but hate the taste of alcohol, weirdly).
Extra sour lemonade ftw. Down with sugary sweet stuff!
Also Theo is a boss.
My youngest sister was that way with pickles. 🙂
I <3 Theo. He is such a great parent and grandparent!
I couldn’t discern the look on Andi’s face for a second. I’m not quite sure, but it’s possible she is thinking that this may be one of the things Amanda learned while with the abusive family and how she developed afterward because of how Theo worded it. She’s afraid of losing, she doesn’t need to “win” any of us.
Daaad Selkie’s bragging about her name being the title again!
I got used to the taste of regular lemons because my Mom didn’t like the lemon slices that came with her diet soda. She would keep forgetting to ask for “no lemon” and then just taking off the slice and putting it on the side. I, not wanting her to waste the lemon slice every time, decided to ask for it. Since there was always a little bit of sweet soda on it, it helped take the edge off until I got used to regular lemons.
My lips don’t even pucker anymore at the taste of unsweetened lemons. It’s great.
I have seen a six-month-old happily sucking on half a lime. This same kid also seems to like the juice of raw garlic.
(And I used to know a cat that would eat jalapeno peppers.)
That’s actually kind of adorable for a baby. X3
