No. Todd believes his biological child is dead. We tend to judge others based on our own moral code and what we would do in a given situation. It hasn’t occurred to Todd that the woman he loved would give away the child he so ardently wanted. Then would Allow him to grieve Her as dead for eight years while continuing a relationship with him and even advocating for making another child. He’s never getting those years back with Amanda. Finding out that she’s spent years of rejection in the orphanage after years of abuse is going to make it harder to forgive Andi’s deception.
It’s more likely if he thinks it’s Andi at all he thinks it’s copycat behavior, which would belong down the hall in the “Cray Cray Stalker Ex Department”. No one wants to go there.
Yeah, I seriously doubt the idea that Amanda could be his presumed dead daughter and that Andi has reclaimed her even came close to crossing his mind.
It’s much more likely that he thought Selkie’s description matched Andi’s, but dissmissed the possibility because there’s “no way” Andi would adopt a child.
At least based on the information he has.
At this point of time Todd thinks their child has died. I’m not sure why he would need to be more curious, as he has legit reasons not to put Amanda and Andi together.
When Selkie said she was going to win I thought she was going to make Andi and Todd meet, if that’s so then it looks like Amanda isn’t the only one who needs to have a talk about showing reverence and respect about your family.
They are eight. It’s totally within the norm of most eight year olds to do such things once in a while. Some kids may be more considerate than others and usually Selkie is, but this grudge with Amanda is long and deep (and justifiable).
No the winning part is about the spat between Selkie and Amanda. Selkie wants to go because fishies. Amanda states her mom WILL take her and Selkie SHOULDNT be allowed in…
Oh, Todd. If your daughter makes it to adulthood without putting any plans for world domination into effect YET, I think you’ll be able to call it a win.
Dangit. I’ve been viciously refreshing the page for an hour wondering why you haven’t updated yet, Dave. In my defense it’s finals week and I’ve lost all track of time… and only just realized it’s Thursday. ๐
Teacher wants to give bonus points for an activity like the aquarium? Fine. Not announcing it until the day before the activity? Lame. Only families with flexible schedules can get the bonus.
Dave> your transcript is major LAWLS today!
Thanks! ๐
Indeed! ^_^
… yup drawing a blank who’s mina again?
Mina Afkhami, Selkie’s teacher.
How readily dismissive of Todd. Of course if he were really curious he could give Andi a call.

Yup, I read it the same way as Makokam.
Well-summarized.
That would require Todd not only to call Andi, but also to talk to her. This doesn’t work super well with his plan to avoid Andi like the plague…
At this point of time Todd thinks their child has died. I’m not sure why he would need to be more curious, as he has legit reasons not to put Amanda and Andi together.
So, Selkie is planning to pit herself against an octopus huh? Well there’s only one response to that: โRelease the Kraken!โ
Or she’s planning to pit Todd against Andi.
Know your meme. It works both ways, “Release the kraken” has come to mean: To pwn, to kick the ass of whomever you’re releasing the kraken on.

Dave I know you work best on your Mon-Wed-Fri format but you are killing me with suspense! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Well that last panel has me worried and for some reason humming the my little pony song except with the words “my little demon, my little demon”
I think your advice about Blood Speech is spot on, considering it’s also apparently /visible/.
What if I am the one with bloodspeech?
Dangit. I’ve been viciously refreshing the page for an hour wondering why you haven’t updated yet, Dave. In my defense it’s finals week and I’ve lost all track of time… and only just realized it’s Thursday. ๐
In my family we will sometimes use bloodspeech ironically just for the pure hilarity of it.
