I think Todd should pack Selkie a “live lunch” for tomorrow: That way when Truck gets too close she can pull it out, bite it’s head off, and *smile* at him like he’s next. 😉
Heh, as cute as it was to see her eat the gold fish, it would likely backfire on her. It COULD scare Truck, but it will definitely scare any POTENTIAL friend she could make.
I’ve got it. Selkie sits alone in a corner, seemingly scared of Truck. When Truck sees her and comes over, he’ll obviously block the view since he’s so large. Then she asks, “Cans … cans I gives you my lunch? I’ll prepares it for yous…”
Unfortunately Truck’s parents are already agitating to have her declared dangerous…they already got their little sociopath kept from punishment. That’s right, the beaten up kid got suspended and the aggressor didn’t. Todd should go to the newspapers.
As well she should be, he doesn’t seem like the type to let stuff go…
And before the peanut gallery suggests something to get her out, try to imagine if you would realistically have done it when you were a kid… Actually I’m probably the last person who should be saying this, when I was a kid I’d totally have bit people if I knew I had venomous spit…
And the fact that Todd knows her well enough to realize that she’s sincerely troubled, not just rebelling. There really is no question that they are becoming a family.
They’d have to have Agent Brown talk to her teachers, to make sure they knew about her health needs, etc, but it’s probably a pretty good idea, and it’s likely to happen if things go downhill again. (Then again, if things go downhill again, it’s very likely that Agent Brown will have several people’s heads, and it may cease to be an issue.)

I like this… it should totally happen. Even though the school would probably totally flip out.
Of course it would be best if she got him alone first: No witnesses that way.

Face of dawning realization in panel 3: heartbreaking.

The huge positive here … Selkie already trusts Todd enough to talk to him about this.
And the fact that Todd knows her well enough to realize that she’s sincerely troubled, not just rebelling. There really is no question that they are becoming a family.
^^^A thousand times this. She trusts him and he is deeply bonded with her.
WOW I JUST REALIZED THAT THE MONSTER TRUCKS IN HER DREAM REPRESENTS TRUCK. I AM SO SLOW. AAAAAHHH.
Okay. Huge denseness here too! Dur, even after this page, I had to have you point it out to me before I realized it. :/
Private school, think about it…
