From when I was a kid I know there are two ways she is looking at it… what we hope “Oh I am betraying her trust… I feel so guilty…” and the FAR MORE LIKELY “I got away with it… what else could I get away with!”
I think it’s the former though. Amanda knows that the whole echo business is far more serious than her mom thinks it is. And also Amanda knows that she can’t just STOP being an echo. She knows that part of what is going on with Selkie is because of trying to surpress the Echo abilities. So she is more afraod of not being able to control it, but also knows that Andi probably won’t understand.
Remember folks, this is a traumatized kid with abandonment issues. She has something that gives her power that is all hers. She may be scared of it, but she sure as heck won’t give it up or let other people tell her how to use it.

But she *IS* taking it seriously!
Well, Andi was 50% correct.
