Ohhhh crud, a Sar’teri soldier dragging a protesting Selkie away by the wrist, when both of them are speaking a language the humans can’t easily understand, is NOT a good look. Especially with the feds probably showing up soon.
and the secondary walking handgrenade that is the step sister who while less raw power is more accurate with said power AND has the STRANGER DANGER mentality AND more imporantly Fuck with my sister and you fuck with ME temperment. This is going to end poorly AND OR hilariously…
Please please please let Pohl be among the people who show up in response to this.
I was going to add Scar to that but I’m beginning to think people are right in guessing that the Echo on board the ship may be Selkie’s mother. Scar’s probably not a great choice.
This is about to become several shades of painful, I think. 🙁
In the main hall, probably trying to keep the non-Echoes calm and in place (after trying to get Selkie and Amanda out of the line of fire/discovery) and in active communication with Avery.
Clearly this did not work as expected for getting the girls to the basement. Guessing Amanda’s playing distraction for Andi and Jessie (intentionally or not, given we were worried about the amount of resonance going on here…)
yep, there are tables there A Table leg + temperamental Being (Todd has a Temper) on top of that you have PROTECT FAMILY as a hardwired imperative = Monkey boy go SMASH.
Ban’Thie:
1) Surface people are friendly
2) oh!! familiar face
3) and exactly the resources we need??
4) how fortuitous!!!!!! Don’t know what she was saying but clearly everything is cleared up nowd
Narrator voice: everything was NOT cleared up
Yah, hope it was a good break. Sorry I couldn’t put anything together in a timely manner, I had really hoped to but got heavily distracted for multiple reasons including the energy-sapping awareness of having an unwelcome houseguest stick around for weeks. Been hard to focus on anything productive these past couple months.
If I get my drawing pad set up with my new computer, might see about trying to make a strip in advance. If my ADHD brain will even let such a thing happen.
Yeah she can, she can cauterize the wounds! ><

At least Selkie looks like she’s arguing with him and not like she’s screaming terrified and trying to get free
And here I thought Buun was supposed to be the dumb one who makes decisions without thinking them through.
All Ban’Thie sees is an Echo. And she knows there are wounded people on her ship. That’s her focus right now.
Where her focus is going to be when Avery and the other agents show up remains to be seen.

Probably just as well that Amanda didn’t greet them.
As always, I remember something after I’ve posted. :/
Where is Todd in all this? I really don’t see him being casual about this person abducting his daughter.

Why do I fear the next strip is going to be Amanda playing the Hands Off My Sister! card?
Resonance also being healing magic is a neat reveal, kind of a contrast to mostly focusing on the destructive capabilities of echoes until now.
I wonder what the limits are?
i’m imagining Selkie learning how to heal and being very interested in using it.
I dunno, does that really fit with Doctor Terrorhammer?
It says “Doctor” right there. And for practice you don’t need to wait for the injuries to be inflicted by an outside source…
I hope Avery is bringing Pohl.

So how was the break?

Ban Thie, that is a child whose parent you are not. I dunno how things roll in Sarnoth, but count yourself lucky if you keep all of your limbs.
I see Ban Thie’s impulsiveness is a common character trait for them.
I think this might be a survival trait, seizing a resource before rivals means your tribe/group survives.
…ANDI, JESSIE, WHERE ARE YOU?!
Bye bye makeup?
Give the kid a bone saw, it’d be safer than lasers at least.
