I feel like calling the last panel “Sibling Rivalry” and hanging it up on the wall of that art gallery.
Then leave quietly before either Selkie or Amanda sees it.
I love it, this is truly how girls are. Also, that image of Selkie in the 4th panel is my favorite ever, and did anyone else notice the difference in clothes on Selkie between the first panel and the last three panels?
Not just to wait for Amanda to escalate it horribly! Woo! And fun times were had by all!
(Or maybe – maybe! – Andi’s already schooled her on specifics of what not to say here enough that this will STAY civil. Wow. What a doozy of a thought)
What’s the time-frame, now? Heather’s been adopted what – three months? Seems kinda quick for kids that had known her for years to be calling her by her NEW last name.
Unless, maybe, she pushed the issue. “Hey Jones.” “My name is FAIRWEATHER, now!!”
And since Giselle is an enemy of “the orphans”, she’d probably still call her Jones, to piss her off.
And on that subject – she had to have a last name for school – before she became Selkie Smith, what WAS her last name?
inb4 Heather starts a fight with Amanda for ‘picking’ on Selkie here and Selkie chimes in and then Heather’s father unloads on poor Andi and Amanda, Todd steps in to try and help, assuming Amanda started it and ends up looking like a fool with Mr. Fairweather when it becomes clear it was Heather and Selkie who started the fight this time.
Heather and Selkie dislike Amanda even more because they think they’re going to get in trouble. Turns out Heather’s dad let’s her off and tells her she did a ‘good job’ defending Selkie and herself. Todd however, scolds Selkie for picking a fight with her sister who has a known temper. Andi talks to Amanda about her relationship with Heather and starts to help Amanda realize she wants to mend their friendship, while also scolding her for hitting Heather before, explaining why that isn’t ok to do.
“This time” being the operative phrase. 🙂
The “Mmmm, face” part cause me to literally laugh out loud. Good job, and smiles at midnight.
Love that last row of panels.

You can see her taking off the purple sweater in the 4th pannel.
Aah, acting like sisters already.
Something something bath salts.
YOU i want to eat… bite me… thinking about it..
that is great…
My friends suggest I should start making that threat. They’ve suggested it for years actually. It feels weird.
I only want to bite the ones I love.
Technically, Selkie is the one being uncivilized here. She slung the first insult here. Amanda was just standing there.
This was supposed to be a response to Liliet, I don’t know how it ended up here.
These things happen, a good point is a good point even if misplaced
That was… almost civil. Aww.
Not just to wait for Amanda to escalate it horribly! Woo! And fun times were had by all!

Andi may have schooled her on what not to say. That doesn’t mean that Amanda will care about not saying it.
How much do I love the fact that Heather and Selkie are legit friends now? AAAAAAAALLLLLLLL the much, that is how much.

It’d be funny if it was “smith” at the orphanage too, like “John Smith” as opposed to John Doe” or in this case “Jane”.
The kids without legal surnames use Doe.
Dat Selkie Doe?
Off topic, but I’ve been wondering: Will the Haunted House game from strip #280 ever be available to buy? It would make an awesome Game Night game!
